I'll tell you something else funny. The Supreme Court ruled in Hall v. Decuir (1878) that states could not forbid segregated accommodations on public transport as it negatively impacted interstate commerce. In Boynton v. Virginia (1960) they made the exact opposite ruling. So first it is, then somehow it isn't.
