Sweden's top court clears transfer of seized Russian 'shadow fleet' ship to Ukraine

Sweden's Supreme Court has cleared the way for the cargo vessel Caffa, a suspected member of Russia's "shadow fleet," to be transferred to Ukraine, upholding earlier court rulings.
The vessel was intercepted by the Swedish Coast Guard on March 6 off the southern coast near Trelleborg. The supreme court rejected an appeal by the registered owner, Caffa Shipping Ltd, effectively letting stand previous decisions by the Ystad District Court and the Court of Appeal.
Ukrainian authorities suspect the 96-meter vessel, which was reportedly sailing under a false flag of Guinea, of illegally transporting stolen Ukrainian grain from Russian-occupied Sevastopol.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed the ruling.
"This landmark decision sets an important precedent, demonstrating that decisive actions by law enforcement agencies and prosecutors, combined with an independent and impartial judicial system, make it possible to translate the principle of accountability into tangible results," Sybiha said in a statement on the social media platform X. "We continue the work on countering the Russian shadow fleet and its ability to earn money to wage war".
This marks the first time a foreign court has approved the handover of a Russian-linked vessel accused of exporting stolen Ukrainian agricultural commodities.

10 days is not fast?
Sticking to the nafo troon narritive i see

>Kyiv’s unprecedented strike campaign on Russian oil refineries has inflicted serious—but likely not critical—damage on the country’s ability to produce fuel.

>While there is not enough publicly available information to provide exhaustive answers, we can draw some conclusions. During the 2024 campaign, most refineries kept operating—at least in part—after attacks, and had restored full output within weeks—and this is true today. The Volgograd refinery, for example, was able to fully repair the damage from attacks by multiple drones on August 13 and August 14, and had restored full operations by August 25.

>The starting point for calculations can also be misleading. Russia’s refining capacity is not equal to output. Every year, Russia refines up to 270 million tons—so at least 22% of the country’s total capacity is always idle (there are various reasons for this, but one is that there is a lot of old equipment in place that just hasn’t been decommissioned). Russian domestic consumption of oil products is about 120 million tons a year, with the rest sent for export.

This is the juiciest bit of the bill that passed the senate imo.
Should block all 3rd parties from the dollar system. There are workarounds, but all of that infra is expensive. From what little I understand, the parent bank currently financing trade with ru would need to set up an arms-length subsidiary (or many) which would exclusively handle ru trade and do basically nothing else.
To keep that bank compliant with respective national legislation, they'd have to spend money loading it up with safe collateral, which is expensive in itself, and make sure that they're never holding anything denominated in dollars, so quite tricky. If that collateral fails, the parent would have to guarantee their liabilities, it's pure risk. Overall I'm quite happy. I hope this passes.

> So only 30% of Americans want to send ukraine our tax dollars lmao. Saved!

Now save for a calculator too. Pew did NOT ask “should we send Ukraine tax dollars?” It asked whether the US is providing NOT ENOUGH / ABOUT RIGHT / TOO MUCH support. 29% = not enough 26% = about right 20% = too much ~25% = not sure/no answer. 29 + 26 = 55, anon. kek 55% say the current level of support is either acceptable or needs to be HIGHER. 20% say it is too much.

You took “29% want MORE than the current level” and somehow translated it into “only 29% support Ukraine.”

> the amount of that aid $ is zero in 2026

Also no. You are confusing NEW APPROPRIATIONS with SUPPORT BEING PROVIDED.

Yes, Trump requested $0 new FY26 USAI base funding. Meanwhile Jan-Mar 2026 the US physically delivered 1,869 short tons of ammunition + 1,200+ major end items to Ukraine, while PURL kept US weapons flowing with allied funding.

The survey asked about that SUPPORT.

Not “please select your preferred FY2026 congressional budget line.”

Holy fuck lmao.

Zero has developed complications apparently.
Also, the $400m USAI authorization isn't even the whole measure of ongoing US support: equipment and ammunition from previously authorized stocks continued moving in 2026, while PURL purchases US weapons with allied money.

Russia’s War Economy Succumbs to a Military 'Dutch Disease'

1/2

Russia’s transition to a wartime economy has fueled a massive surge in wages, but the windfall is masking a severe structural decline that analysts are dubbing a military version of "Dutch disease."
Much like the oil boom of the 2000s, the current economic landscape is generating rapid income growth without a matching increase in labor productivity. According to a recent Bloomberg Economics report, massive military spending is hollowing out the broader economy. Instead of oil revenues pulling workers and capital into the energy sector, the war effort and defense industries are siphoning resources, pushing up labor costs, and steadily eroding the competitiveness of civilian businesses.
Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, Russian wages have outpaced productivity by about 5 percentage points, Bloomberg Economics estimates. That gap rivals the height of Russia’s oil-fueled boom and vastly exceeds the 1 percentage point average seen between 2009 and 2021.
“The civilian sector can't operate like this indefinitely,” said Dmitry Polevoy, investment director at Moscow-based Astra Asset Management. “When wages rise faster than productivity, profits inevitably suffer — and that's exactly what we're seeing.”
With unemployment at a record low of just over 2%, alongside mass emigration and aggressive military recruitment, civilian businesses have virtually no slack in the labor market. Less efficient businesses that cannot match the state sector's aggressive pay rates are simply losing their workforce.

>>
>>540374217
2/2

To keep up, civilian sectors have had to hike wages dramatically. In 2022, the monthly pay for a contract soldier was roughly four times the Russian national average; today, that premium has shrunk to just double, as civilian employers desperately raise compensation to retain staff. Oxford Economics estimates that employment in military production alone has surged by about 510,000 since late 2021, reaching 2.8 million workers.
"The wage boom that has helped Vladimir Putin weather the war is becoming one of the biggest constraints on sustaining it," notes Ekaterina Vlasova, Russia and Eastern Europe economist at Bloomberg Economics.
Further complicating the labor crunch, Russia has set a target to sign up 409,000 contract soldiers this year, which implies a monthly drain of up to 34,000 men from the civilian workforce. Vlasova added that more generous military payouts could force civilian employers to raise wages even higher, narrowing the gap once more and strengthening the economic argument for the Kremlin to initiate another round of forced mobilization.
>>
>>540374217
This was pretty much exactly the thing I recall being called on the war years ago, it'd take a while to fully manifest but the more Russia wants to "fight" the more it basically hollows out the real economy to the point that not fighting will collapse it.

Lets ask the Pentagon

>The Pentagon has seen no evidence that Ukrainian strikes on Russian civilian infrastructure have reduced Moscow’s military capability, a senior defense official told American lawmakers on Wednesday.

>Since January, Ukraine has launched over a dozen long-range attacks on Russian energy facilities, including oil depots and refineries, using kamikaze drones to damage several targets. Celeste Wallander, the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, was asked about the tactics and Washington’s concerns regarding them, during a congressional hearing.

>Responding to Representative Carlos Gimenez, the Pentagon official said that “so far” the approach did not seem to have affected the Russian military.

>“The strikes that we have seen against Russian energy sources have not significantly altered Russia’s ability to prosecute the war,” she said.

>“The evidence we’ve seen is that the Russians have been able to rapidly repair the facilities that were struck,” she added, when the Democratic representative from Florida asked whether such attacks could have a greater impact in the future.

There are zero bunkers for ukrainians, only for the jews in the government.

Russia on the other hand has refurbished 80,000 Soviet era bomb shelters for the public since 2014.

Putin greenlights privatization of Sheremetyevo, Russia's largest aviation hub

Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized the privatization of the state’s remaining stake in Sheremetyevo, the country’s largest airport, formally removing the asset from a restricted list of strategic national enterprises.
Under a decree signed on August 6, the government is now permitted to sell its 30.43% stake, currently held by the federal property agency Rosimushchestvo. However, the Kremlin will retain a "golden share" — a special veto power mechanism ensuring the state can continue to block key management decisions and dictate the airport's strategic direction.
The move is accompanied by strict protectionist caveats. The decree mandates the continued modernization of the airport's infrastructure and explicitly bans the sale of the state's shares to foreign individuals or entities under foreign control.
A controlling 66.06% stake in the airport is already held by TPS Avia Holding (Sheremetyevo Holding). Once registered in Cyprus, the holding company was re-domiciled to a Russian special administrative region in late 2022 amid a broader Kremlin push to repatriate offshore Russian assets. The holding is controlled by prominent billionaires aligned with the Russian leadership: Arkady Rotenberg holds a nearly 35% stake in the underlying trust, while the remainder is controlled by the families of Alexander Ponomarenko and Alexander Skorobogatko.

>Attacks inside Russia: Ukraine maintained its high pace of long-range unmanned aircraft
attacks against Russian military targets, such as airfields, defense industrial facilities, and
ammunition storage sites. However, the DIA assessed that Ukrainian strikes lacked the
coordination, tempo, and concentration on critical Russian military infrastructure to have an
operational or strategic impact on Russia’s ability to conduct military operations.56
The DIA said that Ukraine continued its efforts to disrupt Russian refining capacity with
the goal of degrading Russia’s ability to finance its war effort. However, these strikes did
not substantially affect Russian energy production. Russia’s civilian population remained
largely unimpacted by Ukrainian strikes this quarter.57 In January, Ukraine struck the
Energia battery plant, Russia’s largest producer of batteries for unmanned aircraft, missiles,
aviation and naval systems, and energy infrastructure. In February, Ukraine struck a Lukoil
refinery in the Komi region, which reportedly set a new range record for the UAF at
roughly 1,087 miles inside Russia.58
