In my experience it's true.
Huge number of people live outwith their means.
Subscribed to every streaming service. Car they can't afford on finance. Takeaways several times a month. Latest iphone. Gym membership.
It's a simple fact that previous generations didn't spend money on bullshit like this, because it didn't exist.

None of these things improve your life at all.

>It's never been easier to pirate films/tv/music than it is today

We live in an era where treats and luxuries (eg electronic) are relatively cheap and the basics (housing, food, etc.) are expensive. Boomers grew up in a time when you could buy a single family home working part time shifts at the Kroger but had to save up for a year for a flatscreen TV. They see someone owning a heckin bad phonerino with a heckin bad screen while not owning a home and think it’s obviously an inversion of priorities and poor budgeting because they’re out of touch retards who can’t go into the ground fast enough.

I actually spent my lunch break investigating this and determined a burrito is actually $20. I could make a burrito with real ingredients (no tube slime, plastic cheese, or cancer bread) for $6.25 to $6.75 that was for 4 oz of meat pre cooked, 1 oz of cheese, some beans from a bag, and rice. for a restaurant the rule of thumb is 3x which would put you at ~$19.50.

The problem with avocado toast is that it is a specific example of frivolous spending. The cost is ordering that item is much higher than something you can easily make yourself or because you are chasing a trend like Dubai chocolate. Paying much higher than the actual value of the product. Also the avocado toast was centered mostly around cities. Majority of people weren't buying avocado toast.

Ordering delivery at least once a day. Is about unhealthy and slothful behavior, and trading away financial stability for convivence because you are habitually draining your account at rapid rate. That is why is not a good comparison.

Yeah that's the real issue and I'm not blaming people who have to struggle through it.

I don't entertain the thought of "living outside their means" when corporations use the shareholder model of value and insist on cheapskating their employees in favor of their investors or owners.

How are people supposed to get the money and increase their means when battling government induced inflation on top of corporate greed?

There is no way to survive the massive hoard of demanding people, billions of them... on our limited resources. I don't blame the individual for struggling against the institutions that hog the resources just to waste them in front of our faces.

The individual is not to blame for their broken economy.
The ones at the top of it are and always will be.
Blame lies on them and the only course of action is violently overthrow all of them.

The thing that fucks me up more than anything else in the American economy is that we fully subsidize and federally fund farming for both animals and plants and yet for so fucking reason we are still required to buy it and even taxed on it anyway.
You are literally paying for food you already paid for...twice.

Genuinely food in America should mostly be free. The only time you should be charged for food is if it's being made by a company or someone for your convenience. Food is already mostly paid for before it even hits market shelves.

The literal only logical reason as to why we still need to purchase food is so corporations an horde more money. That's literally it. Again, the food we produce is already fully fucking subsidized.

This can be taken as sound financial advice on the outside but sadly inflation is outpacing these measures. The government will eternally print and spend more than you can save.
What's the end goal? A down payment on a 30 year mortgage shitbox previously owned by a boomer who is paying for a retirement home staffed by hatians on your dime? A shitbox new build slapped together by a drunk mexican so he and his boss can fund their satanic lifestyles? Once you finish paying it off you still pay rent to the government. Right. And not giving you 40 hours at least. Every job I've worked has not paid me enough to afford both living on my own and paying for some form of transportation too.

Every job I've ever worked essentially starves me, luckily I've been living off some gracious friends and family between paychecks and slowly paying them back...

But I've become very jaded and disillusioned with the whole concept of "work"... not from a Marxist sense but from a very Capitalist sense. We're all supposed to be looking out for our own profits, assets, property and territories... We're all supposed to be money-maxxing in a way... so why do corporations get to cheapskate labor and tell us, somehow, we're wrong for wanting more and the whole operation is just benefitng a few old boomers at the top who want more too...

So what's the point of "work" here from a capitalist perspective? It's not turning a profit for us, why are we expected and galight into doing it? Individuals are forced to take the losses of institutions.

I'm only a middle aged man but as someone who regularly works with people under 25, boomers nor I have nothing to fear. If the shit hits the fan, and it will, all the younger people who want mature adults dead will be clamoring for pills do die peacefully because they have no concept or training to deal with the hardship we'll have to endure. I want to make it clear: When the day comes, us olds will be quietly shambling from home to home through neighborhoods, looting what's left after hastily-planned suicide parties. The Amish will probably be there too, with their weird facial hair and horses, offering to build things anew.

Starting wage at some fast food restaurants is around 16-18 an hour in my area. $200 a month invested in the S&P 500 over 30 years would give you $300,000 (adjusted for inflation and assuming AAR of 10%).
But it's not just $200 a month. Cancel all your streaming services. Stop paying for games on steam. Workout at home. Buy used cars.
You can easily save $800+ a month. Thats $1.8 million at 30years if invested monthly in the S&P 500.

America was honestly pretty dead by the end of the 90s. Now it's just obvious. We're something like Brazil now.
>>
The US is mostly running on inertia through things like demand from dollars in the international trade and financial systems. We started seeing signs that people are moving away from this system last year with the tariff announcements since people were dumping both US bonds and US stocks.

Once a major economic or financial crisis hits, for example AI spending cratering or some kind energy crisis related to the Iran war, its possible that people won't flee into dollar assets for safety which means the stock market takes a long time to recover while rising bond yields makes borrowing more expensive exactly when the economy expects low interest rates for stimulus. At that point US living standards will take an absolutely absurd beating because its built on a foundation of there being an almost inexhaustible demand for dollars which can be borrowed into existence.

Yep. While the God damned jews are encouraging White Western Christian children to be lazy, fat, stupid, weak, irresponsible, blue haired gender bending cat parents the Chinks are breeding stronger children, pushing discipline, competence, skill, industriousness. The chinks banned faggot boy-pop bands because they look and act faggoty. They limit video games to 1 hour a day. They expect their people to strive. There is a lot of truth to this.

Electronics were expensive as fuck. It isn't an exaggeration that you'd have to save up 6+ months to buy a big TV or a video game system.
Even n64 games were like $80 when they came out in 1996, and people are complaining that $70 is too much for a game 30 years later in 2026.

But that doesn't make the boomers wrong about the avocado toast.

>boomer spends a year saving up for electronic toy
But no avocado toast

>millenial eats avocado toast and other takeout for every meal
Can't afford regular life shit

There are people spending $1500+ per month on food for themselves because they eat out and have shit delivered. That's a mortgage payment in the midwest.

I hate to get all Reddit on you, but I recently heard someone say that we're all in the same *storm* but not in the same boat, and that makes a lot of sense. Yes, we're all dealing with a lot of the same issues, but beside the fact that a bunch of millenials already "made it", the millenials benefit from being more mature (on average) and having more life experience. Zoomers entered a hostile world trying to fuck their mind, their wallets, and their asses. They weren't even prepared for a world as good as the 90s due to their brainrot, but they're being thrown into a world much worse.

The rent on my shitty single room apartment in the poor part of town cost more then the mortgage on my boomer parents lavish mcmansion with 40 acres.

It's bizarre how clueless they are to how bad things have gotten; until I go over there and notice that everything they see on the tv, youtube, their social media feeds is propaganda designed to keep them in a bubble believing the economy is fine, finding work is easy and younger people are just lazy and incapable of saving money and helping in anyway will spoil them. It's also crazy how much shit they get pushed about donating all your money to the church, charities and israel. Clearly the people who run the media don't want there to be any generational wealth with families anymore or people pooling resources together, thats why they have to push the narative that kids need to be thrown at 18 to fend for themselves in a rigged system.

Then keep the elders with money, power and political influence who could change things for the better comfortable and distracted, while you rig the economy, destroy jobs and drive the cost of housing up to fleece their children and grandkids so you can steal their future, inheritance and land, making them homeless, then finally cull them either via deadly street drugs or the prison industrial complex for being homeless.

Of course they will claim its all conspiracy, these elites who constantly talk about human overpopulation while simultaneously claiming they are gods chosen people and the earth was meant for them alone.

The real problems
>Boomers all have (((401ks))) and (((social security))) instead of assets
>When they die this all goes poof instead of being family wealth
>100k+ retirement incomes turn into 30k of private investments
>40k retirement incomes become nothing for inheritors
>Houses are inflated in value to the point inheriting one requires it to be sold, no transferrable tax portability between generations
>Most boomers are underwater on debt despite guaranteed yearly earnings, their estates suddenly being in the negative without the government income to maintain them

All this keeps enough people from being able to grow familial wealth, own generational property, etc. to grind away any semblance of a society. The government and bankers shouldn't be the sole beneficiaries of the boomer generation. Property tax, income tax, all gift and estate taxes need to be banned. A reduction in population should be encouraged and defended as it eases every problem a citizen has, arguing otherwise is definitionally treason. Banks shouldn't be able to write loans to people expecting to be dead when they come do and doing so should be the high financial crime it is.

~40 years of the elderly saved by daddy government from being indigent in old age from their own choices isn't worth internal slavery and death of our nations.

I doordash literally every day, sometimes 2-3 times a day, because our friendly small business that was making millions of dollars suddenly got sold to 7 rich faggots from Nashville and our hour-long paid lunch got turned into 30 minute unpaid lunch.

The problem is that our business is on the edge of a highway, you have to go down the highway and u-turn then drive 15 minutes to get to any food places. The only food places are wendys chipotle and chic-fil a. Nobody can realistically get any food within a 30 minute time frame and eat it, so everybody just delivers.

You know whats funny? Nobody gets broke from doordashing every day, because we all make decent money and it doesn't bother us. What does bother us is the fact they forced this choice on us, and not all of us have time to cook at home 5 days a week

It’s to impose a formal structure on something that is naturally unbounded and chaotic, flowing money. It creates reference points in the form of hard limits that let you gauge how you are doing and give you a sense of control. There is a similar mindset with investing, you always want to have a predefined price level in which you will enter and exit a trade, going based off feelings won’t get you far.

China will be the top country, which is not the same thing as magically being able to to dominate the world, don't be a retard. Even the British empire at its peak was getting cucked by the Dutch and couldn't do shit to stop them. China is absolutely not rising fast enough to pose any real threat of global domination, again, you'd need everyone else to get massively retarded and probably more than once in a short timespan.
You're emotionally conflating China's threat to you with their capacity for global domination, which are two very different things.

I can't stress this enough. The twenty dollar burrito (the cheapest lowest grade takeout you could buy in the 90s) is a sign of total economic collapse. You could feed ten of your retarded friends with $20 american in 1999 and I'm not joking pocket the rest. Boomers: "muh beans un rice!" This shows the boomers profound lack of economic awareness and time cost benefit analysis.

The whole economy is running and depending on that 28 dollar burrito because Boomers sent every manufacturing job over seas 45 years ago

If you can manufacture at the level China can. Yes. Yes you can retard.

Yeah social security and property tax are huge problems. Morally and fiscally.
>When they die this all goes poof instead of being family wealth
401Ks are assets and don't go poof when you die.
>no transferrable tax portability between generations
There is if the property is in trust. Estate attorneys have the system set up so you get whacked if you don't hire an estate attorney.
>Most boomers are underwater on debt
False. The median boomer has a net worth around 3-400k. That's not including home equity.
>Banks shouldn't be able to write loans to people expecting to be dead
Nah taking out loans where you expect the principle to be liquidated is totally valid. It's not the bank's fault your parents didn't want to leave you anything.
