The prevalence of moonlighter or part time work seems to be the actual problem. Companies are prefering to part out full time positions into part time positions and full time roles that even skilled labor would fit into at an entry level at most companies is now being maximized by utilizing moonlighter/part time positioning to avoid benefit costs.There are jobs there are just way less jobs you can actually make a living salary from unless you have two or three of them.That and the gig economy in the toilet now because of importing infinite brown people and AI....theres just not much you can do unless you're literally related to someone that has pretty high level stroke at a company or its local regional offices.

I've only been at it a few months, but I can already tell that this will be my life for the next several months, possibly even longer. Applying for work, going through some of the dumbest recruiting processes I've ever seen, then rejected. Maybe actually getting a formal rejection for every 10th job I apply to, the rest are radio silent and assumed to be rejected.

I had a cycle for the last year where I would get hired for a high paying job I actually wanted and then get laid off almost immediately, this happened 3 times in 2025 and twice in 2026. I got a dream job in aerospace with amazing pay doing work I enjoyed a lot, I enjoyed it so much I was pulling shitloads of overtime and jumping on projects just generally putting in 110% so naturally they laid me off 2 months later. I’ve given up, I got a job at IHS where I literally do nothing all day for $24/hr and it’s very much a dead end with no where to advance into, I have lost all sense of motivation. It’s actually nice since all I do at work is play gacha on my phone and occasionally enter a PO, all I hear from my boss is how I’m doing such a good job, shit simply baffles me.
