For a mundane example: the Western media tells Americans and Europeans that China is “muh authoritarian” country where nobody has any freedom, yet in China it’s perfectly normal and non-offensive to bring your own food (or another restaurant’s food) into a restaurant and sit down and eat. Meanwhile in America, “the land of the free and home of the brave,” karens go batshit insane because a family wants to bring some grocery store bought cake and eat it in her mediocre pizzeria after they spent $95+tip for their kids overpriced birthday dinner. America and the EU are constantly under the totalitarian presence of the “collective karen” and the “collective boomer” who have both informal social power as well as real institutional power via corpo HRs, neighborhood watches, and HOAs. These people will not hesitate to oppress you worse than any commissariat if they are given the chance. Meanwhile in countries outside the Anglosphere and EU bubble, people mind their own business and don’t give a shit what others do. No wonder everyone is on edge and on SSRIs 24/7.
