the US actually wants a cheaper currency so it can pay its construction workers less in relation to gold so that we can get infrastructure built again. we need to revert to a developing country for a solid decade again, just like we did in the 30s
>>
>>540427993
When USD and CNY are 1:1, it will have crashed so much

Fucking retard

Yeah those stupid chinks will need to spend more dollars to get their yuans back! Great geopolitical victory of the 4d orange pedonigger.
>>
>>540428079
yes, OP is a retard.
>>
>>540428393
In some way yes, it means china stops being the world's factory. they can't afford for their labor to be expensive
>>
>>540428949
Their labor is about 5x more expensive than India. Cheap labor hasn't been the reason that people still manufacture in China for over a decade now.
>>
some say this is China's Plaza Accord. but it's not like Japanese one!

indian manufacturing and human resources are, of course, complete garbage and not really an option for companies. apple got burned badly when it tried to switch over. having zhou, wu and di work on your phones instead of pajeetas is worth ten times as much in labour costs.

China's still the industrial hub of the world, while the US just juggles digits left and right. China numbah one in every aspect of world power attributes, even militarily.

The yuan is tightly controlled by the chinese government, if it goes down or up depends if the government wants it to. It doesn't freely float like other currencies and chinese nationals and companies can't just speculate on the yen like you can in other countries. It's similar with north korean currency and the ruble to some extent, their exchange rate against other currencies doesn't tell much
>>
>>540428079
Yesir, yuan or go fuck your mother.

And how many times more competent?

It achieves the opposite of what the Chinese government wants to have happen and exacerbates their economic depression, unlike with say Japan which has seen their purchasing power decrease as the Yen depreciated, though (I'm not sure about this next bit) it should make their exports more in demand.

Basically though, the Chinese government has always intentionally suppressed the price of the Yuan as an flat almost subsidy-type boon to its exports-driven economy. It's been saying now for years that it wants to "boost domestic demand" but somehow, none of that ever actually translates to its policies so that's basically just another lie they sell to foreign investors to scam more FDI into China.

China is always being sold as the "factory of the world" and "economic engine" etc. but once you crunch the numbers, it doesn't actually hold up and it's more like there's a giant, massive scam going on which sucks in and traps foreign investment that is then used as economic warfare against other economies including Asian economies, in what's often now referred to as the "win-win where China wins twice". So, OP's chart might actually show that the music is getting ready to stop.
