There is nothing wrong with the Dutch, they just have normalized sex (I once heard disabled people get sex vouchers there because 'sex is a human need'), religion (they are mostly irreligious) and shit (a country below the sea level must have some type of sanitation to defeat the stink) to the point it's more efficient to curse someone with cancer (because it's financially ruinous to someone and Dutch are obsessed with money).
Just imagine that - you want someone to suffer an endless money drain. I wonder if curses in Hebrew or Gaelic are similar.

Cancer really is the most supreme swearword because cancer strikes indifferently and as such has traumatised a wide swath of the population. You could say it has more offensive potential than nigger. Not everyone is a nigger but most people have had a relative with cancer.
