Wouldn't it make more sense to remove tariffs on machinery, electronics, components, and basically everything your domestic industry actually needs so local companies can use imported equipment and components to increase productivity and build more advanced things themselves?And at the same time, they created practically no decent incentives for domestic industry. No proper economic zones, no serious benefits for opening new factories, including factories out in the provinces.Instead they kept supporting this completely retarded Tierra Fuego land scheme where taxes and tariffs were reduced. That land is located in such a fucking awful place logistically that transportation costs alone make manufacturing there extremely expensive and pointless. It's in the middle of fucking nowhere, practically Antarctica.Instead of supporting their own industry, they were actively killing it.Local companies that needed machinery and other equipment for production were literally forced to smuggle this stuff across the border ilegally just to avoid paying insane tariffs.
