The technology is not useful, it's the last gasp of tech-niggers trying to be relevant in the physical world. Speeding up transactions etc. is already a good achievement (that is what the internet provides.) They should just rest now, disappear, and understand their limitations.
It's large scale scamming and other scummy tactics bolted together on top of other concerns such as abusing loopholes and laws to get them built, using an insane amount of power, enough that its cost is directly shoved onto other people living in the area. Living near them at all has other issues including those toward health and sanitation of things like water due to low oversight as well.
