There is no play. Things never go as planned. All the social science and technology and we still can’t predict the results of elections sometimes. Just forget about any thoughtful decisions over long term, its all bullshit. Politicians just go with the flow, take credit for nice outcomes and blame others for bad ones, while you deal in the real world, that just works by itself.
