They can't. The US MIC deindustrialized after 1991 since they never imagined they'd have to fight a real war.
>>
>>540456604
This. Completely insane that the American government reacted to winning the cold war by giving the next-biggest communist power the manufacturing base that just won said cold war.
And in exchange we... got to also give the CCP nuclear icbm tech? What?
>>
>>540456461
It makes them less money and it’s probably more dangerous.
>>
Wouldn't they need to literally build more factories? That takes years.

you need to get worried when ford makes planes and for some reason you cant buy christmas lights or hearing aids anymore

This is a problem only because of orange niggers tariffs and its funny as fuck.
The commodity needed to build this shit changed routes after countries found different partners.
China also stopped sending these commodities needed after trump went full tariff on them also.
Dumb as he is, he is fighting a war he is losing because the shit needed to keep this war going is no longer there. Stilll he thinks US has everything and dont need anything from anyone else and blah blah blah.
Just wait until next year when shit really is going to hit the fan. That part is going to be insane. But of course, people have no clue.

Fox news told me we weren't out of weapons so I say we should withhold the spending. It's time conservatives put their money where their mouth is and follow their principles of small government.
>>
>>540457242
That's just ONE of the many barriers. The bigger problem is rare earth materials and the ability to process them. Heebs are ultra retards and they tied a bunch of weapons manufacturing to dependent on foreign production. Even a 12 year old could tell you that's a bad idea.

Jews really wanted to shave those shekel coins down for maximum profit. So here's the pay out. Rest in piss jew kikes.
>>
>>540457765
America has massive rare-earth deposits in california. They are dirty though, which is why we got addicted to communist suppliers. We got to pass all the environmental laws to fell good while exporting the filthy aspects overseas. What a catastrophically bad decision. It'll take decades to get everything up and running like during the 20th century.

We still have our factories, most are just mothballed. The defense production act requires factories to be able to be reactivated if needed, but it would still take many months to even get them running, and probably a year or two to get them fully staffed and fully productive.

2 years hard minimum. This country does not have the trained workforce to get factories up and running quickly. They're going to have to convince people to go to trade school and then wait for them to finish, and good luck with that considering the fact that Republicans will absolutely demand that those prospective workers pay for it all themselves.

>>
>>540458988

And honestly the defense contractors are just making the rational decision to not actually do it. If they hopped to and did it as fast as possible...well what if Trump gets thrown out on his ass, some Muslim DSA guy gets the presidency, and he cancels all the orders? Millions thrown away for a war that will certainly be lost this year no matter what they do anyway. Why jump to it?

The giving was in the 80'/90's desu and it was certainly giving. Just like America is now giving to India.

>America has massive rare-earth deposits in california. They are dirty though
All rare earth deposits are "dirty". What Asia does is processing and refining which can be a toxic process and because of that the US regualtions have made it so that its nearly an impossible undertaking for American manufacturers to make.

One does not simply pull "clean" rare earth out of the ground.

None of the war the US in is an existential crisis level. US could easily stop participating in the conflict at any moment. If you increase your production and the conflict end, you will be left with tons of unsold stocks, and any new plant or production line would be dead weight. By taking it slowly, not only do you avoid possible loss due to overexpansion, you can charge more for the same stock because of how scarce and how needed they are
>>
>>540458733
We can make magnets in the lab if needed. Just need to build the factory for it though. lol

Yeah this is bs. Russia managed to refurbish old tech and build a new base and so can USA given the incentive. USA has just as much old tech as russia does/did, the context is just different: can't do anything with tanks in Iran, not even use them as glorified artillery. USA can't do a naval assult. Literally shooting ducks tier. They can't stage an invasion from the east via iraq/kuwait because it takes time to amass forces during which you'd get harassed all the way through. Pakistan is the best bet but then you drag pakies into the war which they will not do because it leaves them in a weak position against India and it's not a cake walk to invade from a moutainous area either. Regime change was the game plan and it didn't work. A real invasion of Iran if serious will be the bloodiest war US has ever been a part of.

This is the only real answer. These companies are purely diriven by wanting to make as much money as somehow possible, and making more weapons (or even making them at a reasonable price) is not in their interest. The US is utterly slave to "le free market" (A few rich intrest gorups)
Same fuel prices go up in the US while they export fuel. If they had the means to even do some nationalizing the US would not need to care abotu hormuz

Because many of these weapons were too expensive to be useful from the beginning. But military faggots applied the same retarded logic like leftards when they argue "Elon Musk should pay to end world hunger", arguing "we can afford to shoot 5M missiles at 5k drones for a very long time". It's not about the money - the price is just a representation of how hard and complicated it is to make things.
Bringing cost down is not something you do when pressed or poor, but of strategic importance.

>This is the only real answer
No
The US can't produce much at scale anymore, especially if it's advanced
It's the same reason the bridge in Baltimore that got hit by that jeet is still far from being repaired
It's the same reason billions were thrown at high speed rail for 0 feet to be laid
It's the same reason that ~500 billion was invested in semi conductor manufacturing to amount to not a lot
You can't run an advanced economy with this many nons, especially if they're shoehorned in places that they have no business being in
Most of the people with degrees cannot perform the function of their title
Most of the low level workers are semi retarded
I'll give an anecdotal example of a good friend that works at a major defense company (one you've heard of)
He designed a prototype for a part
Sent the specs down to the fab dept
Sits there longer than it should
He says wtf
Goes down there after days, turns out 0 progress has been made
They stuck some mestizo on it
He had to go find the 1 White guy in the dept
Asked that guys boss if he could use him to make the prototype
Finally agrees, part gets made, works in no time
Basically weeks wasted because of nons
While I want this empire to fail and in principle have no problem such things happening because it's hilarious to watch zog flounder, it's a microcosm of why the US in incapable of ramping up production in a major way
Yes the US could produce a lot more trucks or something more simple, but when it comes to advanced electronics or weapons systems, or key components that are difficult to manufacture, throwing money, pajeets in the mid level, and mestizos at the low level will yield the results that everyone here expects
Add a bunch of jews and harpies in HR for insult to injury

The truth of the matter is we deindustrialized and outsourced all our manufacturing to China (and other countries) because of their extremely cheap labor and lax labor and environmental laws. It was simply cheaper to have all the low and mid end manufacturing done elsewhere, so we could do the advanced finishing steps here.

That was what allowed America to win the Cold War and enjoy unprecedented prosperity for the last 30 years. And it's what is going to damn us all to hell now as globalism and our global supply chains and networks breakdown. Those countries who fell behind because they opted out of the system will be at an advantage because they have most of their necessary manufacturing and processes 'in house'.

We though? We're fucked. We need to reshore all these factories, we need to spend years training up a workforce AND incentivising them to go work in these factories, and we need to change a whole bunch of labor and environmental safety laws to get our capitalist class to even give a shit (why invest here if the third world is cheaper at the end of the day.)

There is an option that most of /pol/ would hate - and that is reforming a version of our global network to just North America, and have Mexico and South America be our new manufacturing hubs with some juicy free trade agreements. But Trump already fucked that by tossing out NAFTA and butchering NAFTA 2 and making in poison for Mexico to swallow.

Meanwhile China is basically like how the US was pre-WWII - it has raw materials and industry aplenty and when WWIII inevitably kicks off, they'll be able produce at scale at levels that would make US military planners cry in bed.

>But muh terrible quality Chinkshit

The quality doesn't matter so much as quantity. And when the US is depleted within the first months of the war (or sooner based on this embarrassing Iran war performance), China will quickly find the advantage as it out produces and outguns us.

Plus that's risky as hell. It's completely against all interest of a systems manufacturer to build extra capacity. That's just going to cost a whole lot, and that's going to mean thst you're going to be stuck with a useless factory when the war ends.

Far better to maintain status quo where there is endless money coming in and the manufacturing books are going to be filled far into the future.
