The baby is also repeatedly woken up during the night, including at 3am, by other residents coming in and out.>At the start of July, her GP issued an urgent plea for the family to be rehoused as the mice present an "environmental health risk, particularly for a newborn.">In the letter, he wrote: "I am writing to express serious concerns regarding the living conditions of a 21-year-old mother and her newborn baby currently housed in a studio flat in West Bromwich.>"The property is affected by a persistent mice infestation which has not been resolved despite multiple reports to the council. This presents a environmental health risk, particularly for a newborn.>"Additionally, the flat is situated beside a large external gate that opens and closes throughout the night. The resulting noise repeatedly wakes the baby, causing significant distress and contributing to the mother's increasing anxiety.
