The US housing market is so stagnant, Zillow is laying off 7% of its workforce!
This is pretty amazing considering how affordable housing is nowadays.

The housing market is now K shaped. Luxury homes are moving, but starter homes which the working class used to buy are no longer selling.

>"The best time to buy a home is when nobody else wants to," said Kara Ng, senior economist at Zillow. "Starter home buyers today have more options, more negotiating power, and sellers who are more willing to deal. The challenge is that the same financial pressures making it harder to save for a down payment are also making it harder to take advantage of that opportunity."

The problem is (and this applies across the west, not just in United States) entire real estate industry is interleveraged with the financial speculation of investment banks aka Wall Street and City of London. That means it is in lock step with the global gigabubble casino of speculative debt instruments, this is a prime source of the constant price inflation of especially residential real estate.
In the U.S. even some of the most desired markets/regions are having to shave off or substantially cut prices because realtors simply can't allow some of their choice properties to remain, sit for so long. Statistics are trying desperately to cover this up (so that speculators, market observers don't perceive that the bottom has fallen out of residential real estate).
They can't keep this fake scam going for much longer. But the day of judgment is coming, not just for the real estate gigascam but more important and significantly for the AI uberscam, the greatest financial swindle in the history of human civilization.
Price discovery mechanism no longer exists in capital markets. Everything is a gigantic debt casino, now (and futures/predictives are founded on and expect, anticipate that)

Anon housing prices are not crashing anytime soon. The population keeps growing (due to immigration) and all those people want to live somewhere. Demand is going to stay high, and supply is not catching up due to unionizing and red tape

Those are only for illegals and non whites.

lol immigration isn't impacting shit. boomers dying off more in the next decade or so will cause house prices to go down. it won't stay like this forever.

Boomers continuing to not lower their asking price in spite of the market being so slow unironically demonstrates how resilient they are as a generation
