Mass transit is one of the greatest taxpayer frauds of the modern age. Cities drop a million dollars on a single bus, another $50k a year on the driver, another $50k on maintenance… then watch it roll around half-empty (or completely empty) while the same politicians clap themselves on the back for “saving the planet.” It never turns a profit. It never comes close. Fare revenue covers a tiny fraction of the real cost. The rest is pure subsidy — your money — flushed down the drain so progressive mayors can virtue-signal on Instagram. They know the system is inefficient. They know most people still drive.They know the ridership numbers are inflated. But facts don’t matter when the goal is moral superiority. So they keep buying more buses, more trains, more tracking apps that pay people not to drive… while the actual day to day needs of the city get nothing. This isn’t transportation.It’s a performance.And we are the suckers funding the show.

My biggest problem with public transportation is that in order to get anywhere further than a couple miles you have to make like 3 connections that are each on a tight schedule (for you to get on, not for them to show up on time) and if one bus is 5 mins late it can fuck you over for like an hour. Causing a 40 min bus trip to turn into an 2 hour trip, while a person with a car would get there in like 20 mins
