>This collapse will far exceed the 2008 financial crisis and will directly destroy the current global trade system, which is based on the petrodollar. Countless people will starve to death.
Guys, how do you plan to cope with this financial disaster?
I’m stockpiling gold, the only currency in the world that holds real value.

How is value determined? What is an economy? Do we have to keep mining more gold out of the ground if our population size keeps increasing in order to continue to have an economy?
>>
>>540487255
you can't print gold and just hand it to people. you need some work to do to obtain it. "money isn't real. they are an illusion" -prof. jiang

How can people really be actually mad at missing cheapies its like semiconductors still down 45% from top. There is just a lot of money in the system because Boomers on Dividend Kings are dying and millennials are reinvesting these stocks into AI and tech not because its a pumped bubble.

Okay so like. We'll need entire industries of humans physically pulling gold out of the ground just so that other humans cam continue to use the currency in order to form an economy.

Why should my able/willingness to make exchanges with other humans be determined by how much gold other humans are pulling out of the ground. Sounds like we could possible cut out a middle man in order to have a monetary system...

I'll go one step further. Goldbugs only want gold to be used as a currency because they themselves know they'll have a higher purchasing power because they have acquired the real physical substance. Just like how the private companies who operate the gold mines would have the most immediate benefit.

Do you know what "printing" even means in this instance for fiat? Printing is quite literally any new loan that is made. Should I not have the ability to "print" money for a potential venture as someone who doesn't have a stake in a gold mine? Or should I have to find ways to acquire physical gold before I can make any sort of economic transaction?

>>
If another financial crisis happens this would be de facto proof that banks can not be trusted with our money and their right to handle money should be taken from them.
>>
>>540488917
This would be totally fine if our monetary system operated on us trading specific physical goods for other specific goods. How will you know what you can get in trade based on the bear pelts you skinned? Well you'd have to see what all other barter traders are willing to give you for said bear pelts to determine the value. Dollars allow us to see a more inline view of what those bear pelts would be worth? But the question is do we determine what said bear pelts are worth in GOLD before we make an exchange with someone? And if we do. Then there must be some form of operationg to continuously extract the finite material out of the earth in order to make such a transaction...

There's already plenty of gold to go around. There's no need to be upset when the supply can simply be replenished by ancient reserves already mined.

I know the communiggers hate when people point this out, but investing money into the US Stock market over your lifetime will make you rich. Doesnt matter if you invest at the top of the bubble or the depths of the collapse you get rich either way. You actually get even more rich, the more money you put into a down market.

Cope and seethe communiggers

>Why not turn it into a fractional reserve pegged and tied to gold?

Why use gold at all if fiat already gives you what you want?

Why do you think human economic transactions should be pegged to a finite resource? Is it because you own said finite resource and realize that it would offer you an extreme purchasing power over other?

Again I get it haha. But I'd love for the goldbugs to give a proper answer as to why human economic transaction between each other ought to be pegged to a finite resource.

And give the long run consequences of an ever increasing population who is now tied to a finite resource...

>Guys, how do you plan to cope with this financial disaster?

Have money saved

That's the most practical thing you can go for any downfall or disaster. You're far more likely to need an extra $300 for a car repair than you are a barrel of freeze dried beans or an EM-proof house.

Okay so what happens if the population keeps increasing. Can we just leave the current amount of gold in circulation the same as more humans come into existence?
