Most MEP's (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) (skilled labors) are populated with a generation of old people who are on their way out. Young professional contractors are in short supply right now. You have the opportunity to be an independent contractor and make bank if you know what you're doing.But along the lines of this thread, construction is a very isolating field to be in. Not alot of opportunities (for me at least) to get out and meet women. I make lots of money but when I'm not working, I want to be relaxing by myself not around others. Whenever I meet an older women its always on my lunch break when I go out to eat.
