Every single parking lot should have solar panels overhead. These generate electricity while comfortably shading the cars below. It's so nice.

they don't have those for the same reason they don't have shade trees
bird shit

High winds will carry all that away, the beams to reinforce it are prohibitively expensive.

A great place for solar panels is over water transport rivers, under interstate power lines and on roofs of houses. The solar panel technology should be the roof, not cover the roof, but be the roof.

What prevents the expansion of those things is the obscene efficiency of large hydroelectric dams which can put out more power than ten thousand acres of solar panels.

Another good place is the tops of big box stores and malls.

Also the barrier is batteries. One of you galaxy brains need to make a battery that uptakes and puts out electricity at 70% efficiency both ways, weight doesn't matter, is cheap as dirt and can power cycle a million times.

Every house will have one.

Almost every high school in my county has had these for about a decade.

REASONS NOT TO:
1) It's an extremely expensive source of electricity. A nuclear power plant is cheaper electricity per KW.
2) Solar is inefficient. Anuclear power plant can generate VASTLY more power for the investment required.
3) Solar is EXTREMELY dirty way to generate electricity. A nuclear power plant is far cleaner way to generate electricity.

They don't have birds in Europe, Asia or Australia?
You know you have to wash them regularly (in most climates) to maintain optimal performance, bird shit or not?

But again, you don't want to wash your dick, so you pay rabbis to chew a part of it. Out of sight, out of mind.

I think the idea is to put them around supermarkets and such where the electricity will be instantly used. Can't be bothered to do the math but you've got a giant warehouse with air conditioning, all sorts of ceiling lights and TVs running all day, freezers the size of my apartment in the back for meat and such, those panels will probably barely cover a fifth of it.

The image is clearly American. Not a lot of Frenchies driving F-150’s
