heavy enough armour to stop conventional munitions would render most drones too heavy to fly, and the ones that can still fly would be significantly slowed down, they won't be chasing down vehicles or infantry if they have thick enough armour to deter pretty much any bullet caliber. Start adding explosives and other weapons on top of armour and even the best drones won't be zipping around anymore.

Most of the reason drones have taken off is because of the high mobility, and speed.
>>540574952
nigger the context is the visuals of machine gun saturation not even clearing out half a drone swarm that's sitting still.

WW1/2 era flak munitions might be a solid option against drones, especially if you rig them with proximity triggers. Between the shrapnel and the blast radius you'll clear out much more of a swarm with a flak battery than you will MG fire.

the american has only one word for it. we have a combination of 2 words and only then it makes sense. paranoia alone doesnt describe ANYTHING.

when you cant describe correctly to the minute detail what is in front of your stupid face you can never communicate anything correctly. its all wishy washy.

the asian runes you have make it all so much more difficult that you cant have your own progress, you need us to make progress for YOU.

it is your language.

Lasers. Pretty simple stuff. You seen the vid. Can run them of a 50kw power plant "100hp", or go bigger, no need for kinetics. That's pretty much over, even for air defense missiles as the latest ballistics out of Iran and Russia have counter measures like chaff and flares and do wacky maneuvers on approach. Patriots and thaads and whatever israel makes won't be catching those. Lasers or similar for now. They can repurpose their anti air missiles for I guess extremely large nukes like the Satan or Minuteman but they'd have to hit before mirvs deployed. Or use them to take out aircraft that aren't as nimble. Patriot types of missiles I think are over.
>>
you have no access to german, understanding this can be difficult but the german language produces most of the progress we have. it is the language.

anyone can learn german, when you have so high iqs you should have learned german allready and kick you stupid fuking runes down the cliff. it must be killed. your retard runes ruin your progress and you have to wait for germans to make progress for you.

>>540573685
No they wouldn't. The delay time between that coastel battery going off and the rounds hitting the drones is to small of window. You have to see them first too and somehow predict when they are going to fire. You might see the smoke trail of a rocket as it approaches as the whole point of the rocket is it gives you guidance and distance but you won't see a wall of bullets.

yeah, that's the main advantage of them. it's cheap garbage you can just produce en mass and even if 50% gets shot down there'll be enough left to cause some damage.
even if they shot down 100%, the technology they use right now to intercept them is more expensive than the drones.
they kinda suck for offensive wars because they cannot occupy territory, but they are amazing for hitting supply lines

The only way to fight drones is with drones. On the defense that means having semi autonomous AI controlling them, drones constantly rotating between patrol, and superior numbers.
Its turning the old military maxim of having 3:1 odds to successfully attack on its head. Now you will need 3:1 odds in drones to successfully defend.
Victory will go to the one who can establish drone superiority.
I am surprised this isn't more obvious to everyone. But then I guess it took a while before aircraft and tanks really caught on and were used to their maximum efficiency. The world is full of dullards and the military is no exceptions.
>>
>>540575441
It's not so much that we've forgotten, it's moreso that making FLAK munitions and launchers doesn't provide anywhere near the same profit margins as making multi-million dollar missiles that cost a few hundred grand max to make.

There might also be something about using flak munitions in the geneva checklist, though idk about that.

It's either EMP's or drone seeking counter-drones which seek and destroy drones instead of humans, eventually the drones will also have attached weapons to fight eachother, you may even have big drones carrying tiny drones and they fight eachother like ant colonies do.

I have no idea what the outcome of all this insanity will be but it's likely that in the future you will either have areas where everyone agrees no drones are allowed like the Amish, or everyone will have to have their own swarm of defense drones, or maybe some kind of widescale mutual agreement where if one person uses drones to attack then everyone elses defensive drones swarm attack them and destroy their drones.

God help us all.

>>540578460
I wonder how this would fare trying to fry an electrically isolated drone, not to mention wire guided drones can be equipped with a ground sheath, which would render a microwave system like this more or less ineffective.

But for cheap drones, why not? Anything that increases costs on the adversary is a win, munitions could be used against wire guided stuff.

Or you know...the reasonable solution called large caliber VT fuse shells. Something we were using 80 years ago. If you replaced all of those super expensive extremely rapid fire gatling guns in the OP webm with mark 12 dual purpose guns that entire swarm would fall out of the sky in 1-2 salvos.

>make it so only licensed electricians can buy hobby electrical parts through govt approved suppliers(wouldn't be surprised if they're working on this already too)
>legally imposed software locks on the few commercial drones available on the shelf that lock you out if you try to go near sensitive areas(which is already a thing in the US and Canada, I live close enough to an international airport that I've had software locks prevent my own 4g hobby drone from going up more than around 20 feet at my house, and auto-lands the drone if I try to fly it within 10 ish blocks of the airport.

This strategy is completely ineffective, since most of this junk is manufactured in China anyway.

Also if you narrow down who could buy these things you're basically gimping your own population. We need MORE people to understand this technology, not less.

Do you think China is restricting their own people from understanding/purchasing or using this technology?

The more eyes/brains you have thinking about this subject, the more people will innovate in this area. Or are you one of those people who think that we should defund education so the defense sector has an increasingly small pool of people it could hire?

>societies that dont aggress against their own population with collective aggression drones develop better defense drones and aggression drones

This is the endgame of the game theory.

The problem is that the middlegame might be full of giant wars and billions of deaths from idiots who don't understand the game because they're violent apes, this must be avoided at all costs and be prevented right now to avoid the destruction of civilization and possibly all life on Earth.

The right of individual private citizens to bear both drones and AI should not be infringed. Drone free zones must be voluntary and not mandatory.
>>
>>540572695
They had to make this video to give the old doctrine fags some concept of what is happening out there.
>>
Logically I could conceive that attack drones could be visually recognizable to a machine learning AI, and that defense drones could identify eachother apart from the attack drones, in this way defense drones could carry little to no offensive power, but identify and neutralize attack drones, reducing the possibility of stealth drone assassins and subterfuge, but not eliminating the possibility unless the game theory/technology significantly advances.

One way to secure the power of defensive drones could be to have them engage in commerce and delivery, thus giving an economic and material advantage to the development and proliferation of defensive drones rather than attack drones.

isn't that ideal singling them out individually should be easier than having massive 1000 deep drone swarms attacking in unison forcing separation should make the damage they do spread out and not concentrated to a single important target no? at the very least we've got to start considering ways to take care of each situation, big swarms and spread out smaller pockets across a wide area, two different specializations and strategies will need to be employed to handle each scenario but we're getting somewhere i think, by having these productive conversations about how to tackle them.

Yes 1 drone is a joke to defeat, 10,000 drones and you have a nightmare. Lasers have 2 main problems
1) they attenuate super rapidly over distance especially through an atmosphere
2) they can be deflected by a shiny surface

Lasers therefore are not a super effective way of delivering energy. However I know how to solve both of these problems. I can make the laser's range obscenely large, I can make the lasers penetrate the most perfect of mirrors. I can do all of this myself.
And yet the government would never hire me.

This innovation would basically make all missiles and drones useless. You wouldn't even need to worry about ICBMs anymore.

400mph drone already exists.

theoretically, with sound travelling at ~700mph, a drone launched from a mile away would take 10 seconds to get to you, the sound would take 5 seconds assuming no wind or noise to mask the drone noise and if it was loud enough sound in the first place. in urban environments there is no defence against superfast drones.
the average distance from the edge of a major city to the centre is 15 miles so a drone can hit anywhere in a city in 2 minutes if launched from outside the city.

Can we just breed and train like thousands of falcons to take out drones?

>videos of soldiers begging for their lives before someone simply presses a button
No ethical difference between a drone, an aircraft, or mortar/artillery. It is all the same.
>they're begging for their lives
Not important. Try surrendering to a mortar round.

Centauros system works, place your orders.
>Centauros was placed on Greek Navy Hydra-class (MEKO 200HN) frigates, including the ship Psara. It was sent on missions as part of the European Union’s effort to keep the Red Sea safe for trade and travel. In 2024 and 2025, Centauros proved itself in real combat. It has been used in combat in the Red Sea by the Hellenic Navy frigate Psara.[7] The CENTAUR can detect and jam multiple drones of NATO Class 2 and 3, up to 150 km away. It was able to spot, block, and disable enemy drones launched by Yemen’s Houthi movement. By doing this, it protected both commercial shipping routes and allied naval ships, and it did so without wasting expensive missiles or ammunition.[8][9][3]

>On its very first mission, Centauros showed how effective it could be. It forced two enemy drones to crash or be taken out of action, and it drove away two more by cutting off their control signals. This early success in live battle gave Centauros a strong reputation. As a result, Greece decided to equip more of its navy ships with the system, making it a key part of their defense strategy at sea.[8][10][11]

>still takes multiple volleys to destroy the drones

They are the future. There is no defensive answer.

These guns are great against swarm attacks in static warfare but it is useless for fast moving battlefields. You can mount this on top of APC or IFV but you will lose space for infantry which is needed for pushing assault lines forward and also brings extra demand for logistics and puts huge demand on already weak supply lines. Tech has not caught up for anti drone task force yet.

I will also never join a war until some anon or me invents a fucking RAILGUN.
I am also naming it Gauss Gun in memory of Carl Friedrich Gauss. And taking out kikes with my new gun.

What you do is you act against international treaties, put nukes on satellites, and then topkill. Can't intercept something coming straight down.

Drones are rather unique in the sense that there is a cost effective defense that is to say other drones.
It's significantly easier to make a missile that hits the ground than another missile that hits a missile in flight this is why missile defense will forever fail. Same thing with a bullet, it's much cheaper to make a bullet than armor something to withstand said bullet. With drone the situation is reversed. Drones are slow moving and one carrying an explosive payload is inherently more vulnerable to a smaller hunter killer drone that only really needs to clip one of it's rotors and it's down. Of course it requires tech to develop a bit but drones being uncounterable isn't a law of nature the same way bullets or missiles can't be countered.

This is stupid. Isn't there an EMP device that can do this much more efficiently?
