This, its not the physical cameras. Its the people running them.
A lot of people don't vote and want to be left alone. They don't recognize government power.
This reminds them that there is a government and that government has power.
The population is destroying those cameras because they don't accept that. It will continue this way until legitimacy is achieved or the government is beaten back to its town halls

Do you have evidence that police "buy" the data?
Do you have evidence that the company turns that data over to the police without a legal process like a subpoena or warrant?

Honest questions, because the AI overview says they don't do it, but we know how shitty AI can be

Look at the abortion case in Texas and the pot one in Wisconsin. They can be used to track your movements from state-to-state without a warrant. That's not acceptable, public or not.

Also, tell me a story about a bear named Weevil that makes grits for breakfast.
>>
>>540593415
>But I can't come up with a logical reason why they shouldn't be allowed in public places

A pound of copper and a gram of gold in every unit. When the tweekers figure that out the cameras will get stolen faster than they can be put up.

Flock contracts specifically state that the organization using them is responsible for all costs relating to repair and replacement in addition to user fees per camera.

So, your tax money will go straight to meth-heads with a huge depreciation.

As to crime? Just arrest the niggers the first time they commit a crime and throw them in jail, then the next 90 crimes they would have committed don't happen.

There is no explicit right to privacy, but it's generally upheld that one exists

everything it captures is in the hands of a private entity that can do whatever it wishes with that information, including sell and profit off of it. There is also not nearly enough public reporting or oversight of when and why it is used, which makes it subject to abuse. Law enforcement wants to be opaque about this because of the potential for transparency to "jeopardize ongoing investigations".

In reality, they are being accessed to track spouses and people LEOs dont like. Also, despite their promises to the contrary, its been proven that people who work for flock that arent LEOs have used this system to spy into places where flock software (not even the cameras you're used to seeing, like swim clubs, YMCAs, etc) is in use, for no apparent reason.

The potential for abuse, the actual number of times abuse has been caught, and the mistakes that have already been made by humans operating the system- all of these far outweigh the potential benefits.

>Because they aren't owned and operated by the government.
Correct. Much like Google data centers (whose biggest customer is the U.S. government), Flock cameras and databases would be illegal if operated by the government under Title 50 laws. But the government uses private corps to circumvent the law and gives money to local PDs not under the jurisdiction of federal law to circumvent domestic espionage laws.
>They are privately owned by corpos who have no problems with using the data for their own nefarious purposes.
Lol. They aren't using them for their own nefarious purposes. The feds are using this data on the DL. The problem they haven't figured out is prosecution. How do you prosecute someone with data not collected legally?
>>
>>540593628

A camera in a public place has to be manually reviewed so can't be used to track an individual person
A network of spycams blanketing the road system, automatically recording and flagging license plates knows a person's exact location at any given time.
There is no practical difference between being tracked with Flock cameras and having a GPS tracker on your vehicle. None.
GPS trackers require a warrant, ergo Flock cameras since they perform the same function, would also require a warrant for every person tracked.
>>
>>540593866
Do you also think you have to come up with a "rational justification" as to why whites shouldnt be genocided? Is your "gut feeling" (aka SURVIVAL INSTINCT) not enough in that case either?
>>
>>540593415
When cameras are owned by stores or private individuals, the government can't just search through every single feed. When it's all owned by one private company the government (or any bad actor with access) can spy on your every move. At this scale it's clearly a violation of the 4th amendment
>>
>>540595528
>would
Yeah but they don’t so
>>
>>540595182
Flock cameras don't just take photos, they log specific information about you and your vehicle. That info used to be collected by actual footwork and needed a warrant and was protected by the 4th amendment. Now they can log into the system and get the same info instantly without a warrant. And they will pull over vehicles that someone logged an alert and the system pings.

Can a police officer stop you on the street and ask for your papers? Because that's what they're using these cameras for.

If geofence tower-dumping of cellphone data is considered an unreasonable search(it is), therefore illegal as proscribed by our Constitution and Bill of Rights, due to the fact that the license plate/vehicle data is collected on everyone(rather than only collecting and saving the data of criminals and the accused) and made freely available for police searches, we can safely conclude that license plate readers/databases fall under the same standard. Therefore we are empowered and in fact obligated to repel these unlawful and unreasonable searches by any means necessary to protect our rights. At the end of the day, protecting your rights falls on YOU.

>I can't come up with a logical reason why they shouldn't be allowed in public places
Ahh, the JEW Sophist attempts to establish and monopolize the narrative, by framing the Topic as a matter of "Logic" rather than LAW.

Sorry, it's well-established and definitively ILLEGAL for any state or private entity to engage in such Bulk Surveillance.
The SCOTUS has definitively ruled on this topic, via two key case:
Katz v. United States (1967)
>"the Fourth Amendment protects people, not places."
> "what a person seeks to preserve as private, even in an area accessible to the public, may be constitutionally protected."

The Modern Shield: Carpenter v. United States (2018)
> The Court held that the government's warrantless acquisition of an individual's historical Cell Site Location Information (CSLI) over 127 days violated the Fourth Amendment.

>Carpenter established that systematic, continuous, and bulk tracking changes the constitutional calculus. AI is the real problem here not the cameras. If the government had to pay humans to look at the data it would be ok, but an ALL SEEING EYE that never sleeps is like assigning a government agent to watch every american personally 24 hours a day.

>>Flock cameras are the defacto equivalent to having a GPS tracker on every single vehicle
>Not exactly, because the GPS tracker can follow you in non-public places

So if police built a vehicle GPS tracker that stops transmitting when you leave the public roadway to enter a private space, it would become legal? No.

That’s exactly what I believe based on my interpretation of the letter and spirit of the law, yes. The only lawful purpose for such license plate data collection and maintenance of such a database is for the purposes of automatic billing on toll roads, but even that in my opinion is an overreach in that it’s difficult to ensure that data doesn’t go through a third party backchannel loophole, or that the database isn’t hacked. There’s no reason to be collecting and storing this much data on the citizens, the government works for us and is our bitch, not the other way around. Keep it that way.
>>
>>540596658
>If you had enough cops and informers, you could.
But you can't. That's my point. There are 120,000 flock cameras running 24/7. Many record license plates faster than a team of 10 men could. There simply isn't enough manpower to manually do that.
This makes Flock surveillance a completely different animal than a police officer recording information manually, so it must legally be treated differently.

Not really though. When you register an automobile as a motor vehicle it you are entering it into the stream of commerce. As the so-called "government" has taken for itself the privilege of regulating commerce the courts will say these things are perfectly legal. (Even though they won't say why.) Essentially the "state" is using this technology to regulate "motor vehicles" which are commercial.

"A motor vehicle or automobile for hire is a motor vehicle, other than an automobile, used for the transportation of persons for which remuneration is received.” - International Motor Transit Co. vs. Seattle, 251 P. 120

18 U.S.C. § 31 - U.S. Code - Crimes and Criminal Procedure § 31. Definitions

(6) Motor vehicle.--The term “motor vehicle” means every description of carriage or other contrivance propelled or drawn by mechanical power and used for commercial purposes on the highways in the transportation of passengers, passengers and property, or property or cargo.

(10) Used for commercial purposes.--The term “used for commercial purposes” means the carriage of persons or property for any fare, fee, rate, charge or other consideration, or directly or indirectly in connection with any business, or other undertaking intended for profit.

What I meant is that within the spirit and letter of the actual law, rather than what’s actually enforced as the law as a result of the perversion known as “case law”, it should be clear that this form of registration, tracking(you’re legally required to update your address and transfer registration if you move!) and database maintenance of information that can be used against law abiding citizens should be outright unconstitutional. >Taking photos of vehicles on a public road is not illegal.
Setting up a network which automatically follows you around in public is just as bad if not worse than hiring gang stalkers to do it.
People are mostly fine with CCTV cameras, because they're part of a closed circuit, and they can't be used to build a complete, detailed profile of a person's life.
Nobody wants a complete, detailed profile of their life to be built. It's creepy, it's a violation of privacy no different than stalking, and it gives the people who own your profile an asymmetric advantage over you, because there are at least a million ways you could mess with somebody if you have a window into their life, habits and behavior.
A society which automatically does this to every citizen is not free. Simple as.

Where was all the backlash when cameras started popping up all over American cities. I remember back in 2011 I thought London was a dystopian hell hole because it had so many cameras tracking you as you walked through the streets. “At least America doesn’t have these” I thought. 10 years later and NYC has more cameras than London. All U.S cities have these cameras everywhere. Doesn’t matter if they are public or private. They can be used against criminals or you or whoever if compelled by the courts. Dash cams are the same. They record tons of license plates and that info can be taken if the govt decides it wants it. Fast forward to now and these dipshits only care about meta glasses and flock cameras. Flock cameras aren’t even anything new. It’s been over a decade and every cross street with a light has a camera to see if you’re “speeding”. No one seems to be cutting those down. Why? Why start losing your mind now when it’s been happening for a decade? Despite this Information they do nothing.
>>
>>540600145
There's a website where you can put in your license plate number and see how many times the cops have specifically used Flock to search you, along with the names of the cops who are doing it. But they recently changed the law to stop naming the cops who search the Flock records because apparently it's a violation of the cops' privacy for you to know how many times they've search you up in the Flock database.
This country is a disgrace.
>>540600396
Flock is a private company which sells your data (or is at least explicitly allowed to, even if they don't admit to selling it).
In 2011, you didn't have AI that could make sense of visual data feeds in real time. Your face would get recorded on a camera, but it wouldn't get logged into a database as being "you". If they wanted to identify the people in the video feeds, it would require tedious investigative work. It wasn't something you could just do to all people all the time. That's recent.

>>
>>540593415
I can. Because it literally violates the original intention of the Constitution. Everyone is being spied on at all times. >>
>>540593415
this is the equivalent of having your fingerprint taken at every camera. it is a surveillance team tracking you without a warrant. it is not randomly walking in front of a security camera. the cell phone towers track your cell phone. a warrant is still required to get that data. here, the government sidesteps and creates a more invasive surveillance network by capturing many more identifying characteristics about you and your property and your whereabouts. this is the problem with the surveillance rones as well. they are essentially a network of AWACS. it makes every city a prison. this data, when turned into a searchable database of individual travel records, is warrantless surveillance attempting to hide behind the facade of private business. it is mass warrantless surveillance and the partnership between this private entity and government agencies gives the appearance of the gov agencies viewing the civilian population as a whole body of presumptive cimrinals

These surveillance systems provide your data to fusion centers, who build a "master file" database on you. It is then sold to law enforcement agencies, who add their own data to the fusion center data. You end up with a massive police file on you, whether you have done anything wrong or not. At some point in your future, they will attempt to list you as a potential suspect in any number of incidents, just by your proximity to a suspected or reported crime, giving them deeper broadened permissions to bypass your rights and delve deeper into and monitor your personal life, to uncover whatever else might fit an agenda or narrative.

private companies were operating traffic cameras that gave people tickets for running red lights. after a lot of complaints and a lawsuit, an independent group investigated and found out that company tampered with the time of the yellow lights, causing more people to run reds.

financial incentives make companies do terrible shit.

I don't know where this idea comes from that being in public means you have no expectation of privacy but it's fucking retarded and incorrect. The FACT that cops can't just go around randomly asking everybody to identity their selves proves that people not only have an expectation of privacy but it is a natural right by most sane, normal people.

>muh mandatory loicense plate
It is not mandatory. If it was they would just send you plates/tags in the mail. Now why do they not do that? Because it's completely voluntary. Nobody is forcing you to walk into a DMV and register your vehicle or sign up for a driver's license.

GPS trackers are in your personal vehicle, mobile device, etc. Surveillance devices like flock cameras are products and services offered by a corporation like flock to municipal corporations which the employees/members thereof (see: city manager, city council, mayor) can then contract with flock and purchase their products/services. Correct. Every single one of those bullshit claims is yet another offer to sign something. Don't sign anything. Ever. Do not identify your self. They are not your friends. They are attempting attachment and trying to generate revenue.

>"Hello, peasant. We need you to do a breathalyzer test right here, right now."
>"I appreciate the offer but I am not interested in contracting with you at this time. Am I free to go?"

Simple as. They will undoubtedly throw a temper tantrum, have a hissy fit, start getting mean and maybe even violent. Doesn't matter. If you're not a coward or a pussy then you will invoke your absolute right to deny any and all offers to contract. Repeat the above phrase over and over and over again. I once spent a couple of hours getting screamed at and harassed by several cops who just would not take 'no' for an answer. They were desperate to beat my ass and probably would've killed me too if I had reacted differently, the psychopathic murderous fucks. Didn't identify my self. Didn't sign a fucking thing. Didn't say anything except the above declaration. Fuck them. They are scum sucking pieces of shit who larp at men of the law. There is a reason people used to called them "revenuers" back in the day.

Look, as someone who works in the hospital, we get our fair share of people who are mentally ill and when you work with them long enough, you can recongize all that traits.
These are people who are mentally ill at getting beaten down by life so much they invent a new reality in their head, can be larping that special laws exists if you know some super secret code like SC's do, or playing internet tough guy/revolutary on 4chan.
Before the internet, it never got this bad, but thanks to the internet, rejects and the mental ill can find echo chambers that encourage retarded behavior.
For example, if a man was shoving his dick in toasters and his local community found out, he would be shamed back into proper behavior or socially exiled.
Now that same person can find a community online that supports and normalizes their retarded behavior, and the local community has become atomized.

Yeah I almost envy the bullshit you used to be able to pull before they put a stop to it.
Reminds me of that guy who sent bills to massive corporations and they just paid it without looking into it for years, until someone finally noticed. They tried to take him to court but the bills stated clearly that the bill was for the service of paying the bill so the courts told the corporation he did nothing wrong by the law and it's their fault for not reading letters before paying it.

Really sad when you realize that America is not really a nation but a market where everyone's highest aspirations seems to be how to exploit and trick their fellow Americans out of their money. >Hospitals have the same grift of exploiting.
Yeah, which is why I tell all my friends and family that if they ever need to go to the ED, don't bring IDs and appear homeless so you don't have to worry about billing.
Speaking of the homeless, we have plenty of those and they are low life druggies. I remember hearing from this girl who works the front desk, that a woman brought her father to the hospital for an appointment, got out, brought him a wheelchair to bring him inside. She left her car running and one of the homeless just go in and drove off with it. Woman reported it, police found it and it resulted in a police chase. He crashes the car. Now hears the part that pissed me off, for whatever fucking reason, the police didn't want to deal with the guy or bring him to jail. So they literally brought him back to the hospital, dropped him off, once he was check'd by another doctor, they just let him walked out free as the police had already left.
Imagine getting your car stolen and wrecked, and the police don't even arrest the guy who did it.
Before anyone asks, yes the guy who did it was brown.
Working in the ED, we have the police here a lot, either bringing people in to be cleared or because a patient needs to be restrained or hauled out of here. Police barely do jack shit an alarming amount of the time.

I just think it's funny that I have stopped bothering with him but he is still following my posts like an obedient lap dog, lol.
And him thinking I care about insulting a job that pays more in a month then he will make in years if extra funny.
He is one of those delusional retards we have been talking about.
Way too common on /pol/ now.
