In fact he explicitly says in Concept of the Political that this leads to civil war, and it's his primary critique of liberalism. His friend/enemy concept is much broader, and the general idea is that all political actions exist for the benefit of some group. His main issue is the liberal idea that you can derive politics purely from ideals and morality. He says this conceals secret interests (for a modern example you can use immigration decreasing labor costs). But retards like to dumb it down to REPUBLICAN GOOD DEMOCRAT BAD

Most people haven't read Schmitt despite the fact that most of his books are barely a hundred pages long but his biggest fear was the abolition of Iustus Hostis and its replacement by the enemy as criminal, to dehumanize.
