Why do so many americans hate the minimum wage? Like its literally the only thing preventing america from turning into congo levels of inequality.
They don’t want niggers and spics to make decent money
>>540661480The government + media has conditioned most Americans to believe that higher wages are the primary cause of higher prices for goods and services (despite the fact wages have been stagnant for decades and prices keep going up every year regardless)
>>540661480Ask republicans
>>540661480Cool, now do median wages.
because it's always undercut by illegal labor, duh. something Americans have had to deal with forever because their oligarchy refuses to rein it in.
>>540661480Texas' minimum wage is half of Florida's, yet somehow Texas has a higher median household income ($80,000) than Florida ($72,000). The only way this makes sense is if the minimum wage literally doesn't matter.
>>540661480https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFbYM2EDz40vid related, waiting for you to pretend to not understand
>>540662688its almost like the idea of a 'minimum wage' is not rooted in reality at all because it fundamentally contradicts the market and has no true bearing on purchasing power. The problem is that when we apply political philosophy to these things - there's clear winners and losers in the realm of ideas, in the abstract - and then there's the corporate oligarchic golem we've constructed
>>540661480>Why do so many americans hate the minimum wage?Because there are basically no controls over businesses price gouging people. Raising minimum wage results in every company raising their prices to maintain their profit margin status quo (or in some cases gouge for even more money on the basis of muh extra costs, playing victim) combine it with constant rampant inflation and that's how a McDonald's meal goes from like $3.50 (treefiddy) when I was younger to like $15.00+, and most of those companies just cut staff, cut services, etc. all under the guise of "well, our costs are skyrocketing because of all of these super duper high wage increases" and you wind up just having way shittier service everywhere and paying extremely high prices for everything. Then you have the fact that a high minimum wage in states where nobody controls or comes down on companies who hire illegal immigrants create an even greater disparity between legitimate American workers or business owners and unscrupulous ones who employ illegals. For example, if I own a landscaping company and resolve to only hire young American workers, and I want to pay them $12.00 per hour for unskilled labor, but a law is passed saying I have to pay them $17.00 per hour for unskilled labor, while I was already at a competitive disadvantage to Ramierez paying $8.00 per hour under the table to a bunch of his Mexican cousins, the gap is even wider, and while McDonald's can say "who cares, raise the prices, where else are these fat fucks going to go?" A landscaping company can't say "who cares, operate at twice the rates of the spic companies for the same work!" because you'll lose all of your business. So yeah, those are just a couple of reasons why it's unpopular with many.
>>540661480GOP plutocracy
>>540661480Considering half of the USA looks like the Congo what do you expect
>>540663943Man the left really can't meme
>>540661480>why
>>540661480Child support is calculated on minimum wage. Raise it and you'll see even more niggers in jail and taxpayers that have to pay for it
>>540661605I don't want them to be alive either
>>540665245>more single mothers not getting child support>more niggers in jail for non-payment>functioning members of society making more and paying more taxes to offset the cost if jails.Fuck, sign me up.
