Ads that were talking about getting insurance and also some health products. And it was as you said, it wasn't just some AI voice that was talking about the things in a general way, it was an AI voice that was pretending to be a person talking about how it was the right decision for them. Now obviously I could clearly tell that it was an AI voice and even AI generated script but I suspect a lot of people aged 55+ can't tell.There are also AI spear phishing campaigns that are getting pretty convincing. I know a manager at a major bank that had 200+ people under him, had announced he was going to be at a conference on LinkedIn. The sneaky fuckers, waited until he was at the conference, around lunchtime, they called his assistant (again found on LinkedIn) via a mobile phone number (that obviously wasn't his). But he said that he was just mugged, his phone and wallet was taken. That <guy attending conference> was generous enough to pay for his lunch and his taxi to the police station, he's calling from his phone right now and that if she could send him 200 euro over to reimburse him over Revolut that he would appreciate it. Because it was phone quality call she knew it sounded like his voice but it sounded a bit... monotone. She agreed. But then she decided to call the guy's actual phone number. And it rang, and he picked up. Much to her confusion. And you say well what's the point of this 200 euro scam? The whole thing was a conbination of spear phishing and using AI (which likely cost pennies). They had done it to multiple high level people at the conference, hoping to get lucky and even one payment would cover the cost of the scam.
