The reason they spend thousands of £s and risk their lives to leave continental europe and cross the channel to the UK is because the UK has by far the most generous and softest asylum system of any western country.They spend up to £3000 to get a place on those dinghy's because they know when they arrive they are put into hotels, and will get free housing and food for the duration of their stay.The asylum application backlog is so large that they are guaranteed to be here for 2 or 3 years, with zero expenses.Even if their initial application is decline, they are allowed up to 4 appeals, they don't even pay the legal fee's. They get free legal aid.Meanwhile, they work illegally and don't pay any tax, sending all the money home. Once they've exhausted all their appeals...and wait for this...the government not only pays for their flight home, they literally PAY THEM to leave. They get £3000, just for leaving. (you'll think i'm making this up but Labour actually want to increase this to £10,000)They return home extremely wealthy.It's absolute lunacy.
