Nuclear power is basically the ultimate example of humanity making a simple problem hilariously complicated and gay. Spend billions building a giant radioactive kettle, wait a decade for it to come online, then spend the next 100 years worrying about meltdowns, radioactive waste, decommissioning and what happens when something inevitably goes wrong. Meanwhile, solar, wind and hydro just sit there producing electricity without needing a giant radioactive industrial complex whose waste remains hazardous for longer than humanity will ever exist. But sure, let's call anyone who thinks nuclear is a bad idea a science denying goy because they watched a documentary about France in 1975.

These are all political choices we made because boomers shit their pants over Three Mile Island
If we were taking global warming seriously, we'd build nuclear plants within a year with zero care for safety and planning and anyone complaining about nuclear safety would be imprisoned. The odd meltdown is a tiny cost compared to melting the climate down.

I know this is bait, but your faggot solar and wind lack the energy density to be viable on any large demand industry (including making your gay windmills and solar panels). Fast breeder reactors are mostly safe, but the molten salt reactors, especially the LFTR reactors are ideal for nuclear energy. Kirk Sorensen used to be the forerunner in this technology.

Yeah, well that bullshit is a fake boogeyman specifically crafted to manipulate midwits into falling in line behind predatory legislation and social engineering.
>>
>>540686339
Even the more retarded conservatives are having to admit that global warming is real. You didn't get your new line which is "Well it's real but it's too late to do anything about it now, too bad kids"

This anon is correct.
Also oil industry is financing fake greens .
They have shit tons of lawyers who are mass suing nuclear power plants for anything, their goal is to prevent nuclear plants from being built.
Because realistically nuclear is the only serious competition to oil.
>that's why big oil is financing fake greenies
>who create shit tons of problems for nuclear
>yet push solutions that are below survival,
>and that would require oil power plants at the end.

It's a shame you aren't able to deduce the presence of both geoengineering and ad-hoc climate anxiety arguments that take into consideration normies' short reptile memory spans and the prevailing weather conditions at the time. I hope the jews in your constant stream of motion picture entertainment are at least reminding you to look both ways before crossing a road.

>Meanwhile, solar, wind and hydro just sit there producing electricity
no they dont
sun doesnt shine for half of the day and wind is unreliable as well
both sources of energy are a joke
hydro is a compltely different matter but you cna only do that in some places on earth
nuclear is one of the best reliable sources of energy ever created

Its' the competency crisis.
Nuclear requires the greatest minds of our generation to monitor and control minute reactions of miniscule atoms that generate tremendous amounts of energy to heat water to supercritical degrees to turn a steam turbine engineered to eek out each and every joule.
Unfortunately, our supposed "greatest minds" of our generation would rather import actual ape-men to maintain low wages so they can keep their stranglehold on our existence.
Which is where solar and wind comes into play.
Light hit panel. Panel make electricity.
Wind turn wind turbine. Wind turbine make electricity.
No hard physics. No intense thought. No need to think too hard about energy. Just plug it in, turn it on, and charge your preferred gooning device.
Unless of course there's the chance that A.I. would give us all 12 inch winkies, then suddenly nuclear is right back on the agenda. Can't goon if the sun ain't out or the sun ain't shining.

Wind and solar power is a meme. You need 1000 wind turbines to replace a single average reactor. On average a nuclear power plant has 2-3 reactors. Do the math yourself
>>
>>540686080
>These are all political choices we made because boomers shit their pants over Three Mile Island
It should be said that Three Mile Island was a complete nothingburger. The reactor melted down, sure. What does that mean? The reactor physically melted about a foot into the concrete base of the plant. That's it. Nobody died. Nobody got radiation poisoning. Nothing but a very expensive industrial accident. Why it's significant is because almost two weeks prior a movie came out called The China Syndrome, wherein a fictional nuclear reactor has a meltdown and the rods go "all the way to china".
That's why we don't have nuclear energy. A shitty B-movie and a poorly timed industrial accident.

>Wind and solar power is a meme. You need 1000 wind turbines to replace a single average reactor. On average a nuclear power plant has 2-3 reactors.

Solar only produces a few hours a day
Wind turbines vary depending on wind, on average a 5 mW wind turbine only produces about 2.75 mW of power due to changing wind speed and direction. This can fall to 0 when the wind is not blowing.

Nuclear produces power all day long and can be put anywhere, where as wind turbines need places that are windy and solar needs places that have lots of unused acreage and lots of sun. Cloud cover hurts solar big time so being in the Pacific North West where it rains 180+ days a year solar is a shitty idea. In the south where it rains 80-100+ days a year solar is also a shitty idea. You really need the barren desert of the south west. Places like southern California that receive 2" of rain per year, you basically have sunny skies all day every day. Yuma Arizona and everything along i-8 to Tuscon is barren desert that gets no rain. Lotta acreage that is prime for solar. Could be a great place for a nuclear power plant too and use 1 / 100th the acreage and produce 2x the power of a solar farm

triple double czech
to get unescorted access to any nuclear power plant in the US, you have to have an FBI background check, a psychological evaluation, physicals, drug tests, more background checks including credit worthiness. Your whole life will be critiqued to make sure you are who you say you are and that you dont have any affiliations with someone that could sway your judgement to pose an insider threat.

The nuclear plants actively recruit top candidates straight out of college to run the plant. You are not going to get hired on as a laborer digging ditches at a power plant and then work long enough to get moved up to the control room. The people qualified to work in the control room come straight from college with multiple degrees, not from the laborer camps. You can get hired on at a nuclear facility as a laborer, get moved up into electrical or welding, but you are likely to max out as a mid level grunt in those fields. The control room operators are recruited and hired, they dont move up through the ranks over time. You are not getting a random person pushing buttons in a control room in todays modern nuclear plants.

radioactive "waste" is only an issue because we are forced by the government to build inefficient reactors.

they test everyone at a nuclear plant, from the guys who cut the grass, to the top brass at the plant. EVERYONE gets at least one random drug test per year, most times its 2 random tests per year.

NUCLEAR energy is CLEAN energy and it's BASE-LOAD CAPABLE unlike wind&solar.
It doesn't kill a myriad of innocent birdies and bees and batmans. It's truly eco-friendly.
NUCLEAR is our bright future! A BETTER future!
