What are the implications of the President of the United States potentially being mentally retarded?

Steampunk catapults ar cool
>>
I read that the steam catapult lasts 8x longer than the electro mag fag.

You're just a retard. The elctro magnetic one has been nothing but a problem. Constant break downs. The steam powered ones work great.
>>
>>540742817
Don't the ships already run on steam from the nuclear reactors?

Why were new catapults failing en masse?

Miggerism is an astroturfed militant jewish-supremacist ideology. All miggers are goy-hating jews, no exceptions. There are no goy miggers left.

I can't spread for GD specifically, but as a knower of others in the industry, there is a distinct possibility. Complex systems won't survive the competency crisis.

>>540746738
They probably get niggers who are army veterans too. Army allows niggers as low as iq 83.
This can be a major problem.

The sea is not at all kind to electric anything. I'm not surprised it has been a shitshow.
>>
With nuclear reactors on those carriers you have an onboard waste resource (steam) thats primary purpose is to power a fucking aircraft carrier for 50 years without needing a resupply. Why would you install an entirely separate power distribution system that has an inordinate amount of complications through install and lifetime maintenance when you could just use the existing plumbing on a carrier? I've worked a ith the contractors trying to hawk those magnets and they're nothing but roller coaster subs trying to sell a dream just like Tesla. Those components burn out quickly and have to sit on top of all of that existing infrastructure so whatever miserable sailor that has to maintain it when shit doesn't quite work is going to have the eyes of the entire ship spotlighting him waiting for this bullshit solution to keep operating while fighters and others aircraft are in the air. Steam works. It's reliable in austere conditions when you're in the middle of bumfuck Pacific.
>>
>>540742817
Steam catapults were always the superior technology, electric catapults are retarded faggot shit to try and appease some bullshit green energy legislation imposed on the military because politicians are dumb nigger cattle that care more about CO2 emissions than having anything function for the purpose it was made for.

Actually it's because steam catapults are maintenance intensive. Eventually the electromagnetic catapults may be viable, but much like electric vehicles, they're just not anywhere near where they need to be yet.
>>
Steam overrides pretty much every environmental concern that you'd be dealing with in an electromagnetic launch. Salt water is an asshole but if you are maintaining closed systems it's a lot more manageable

Steam is pretty much the basis of our civilization. Without it, we'd probably not have HVAC and we'd be burning candles and oil lamps a lot.
>>
potentially?
>>
>>540742817
So? The UK did the exact same thing. The electric system isn’t as reliable as the steam launch.

Unfortunately, when it comes to magnets, American engineers might as well be these guys.

The Chinese got it working.
>>
>>540749461
You are stupid. It has nothing to do with green energy. It has everything to do with payload flexibility aircraft the carrier is launching.
>>
>>540742817
Will they also fix the plumbing if they are already working on the ship?
>>
>>540742817
He’s got 2 1/2 years to go.
What else can he accomplish in that time?
>>
I posted this in the other thread, still relevant here.

This is actually a failure larger in scope than even the obvious "we're redoing our redone design"

iirc the Chinese "figured out" electromagnetic launch systems. I believe they were, through their newer system, able to put like 8% more aircraft in the air, since the launcher took less time and was more consistent, as opposed to the kinda demanding steam system every carrier had been using beforehand.

I think we tried to into EML but failed F-35 style, and now we're walking it back really fast because the carriers are, somehow, even less mission capable. The US election looms, Taiwan continues to radicalize against China, and the PLN is almost complete.

I'd reckon time is running out for us. We can't rely on our meme marine missile regiments in Japan to stop the invasion. And a large part of the US won't want anything to do with this, not even factoring what'll happen once the body bags start flowing.

I'm so tired of wasting money on this government.
>>
>>540743131
It also erodes the aircraft quicker. They didn't switch away from steam catapults for no reason, nigger.

Other than the Amish, who is using horses to propel anything? They were very important in the past, but steam is still very relevant today.
>>
Trump is usually pretty good with these decisions, I would bet that even though the launchers “are better hurr” they likely fail more often and cost several times more. Consistent but slightly slower is better than faster and broken.
>>
>>540742817
Refitting catobar from emals has been a heated debate for like a decade OP. The only good thing to come out of the electric catapult was getting the chinks to follow suit and fuck up theirs even worse.
>>
oh, it turns out you need routine maintenance on these launchers or else they break down

oh, it turns out we've had these botes out at sea for so long the electromagnetic launchers are breaking down

no we can't send them dock for a mandatory and LENGTHY maintenance cycle (since they've gone without for so long)--we need those botes there to fight Israel's wars for them!
