Millenials remember a time when the country wasn't completely fucked. They grew up with expectations of a bright future where everything would get better as time went on.If you were born in the 80s you saw everything improve year over year. TVs got bigger (and thinner), sound systems became better, video game graphics became more and more amazing every 4-5 years, cars became faster and safer, computers got more useful and smaller. The US was the undisputed ruler of the world.And then everything went to shit. After 9/11 the US basically made the wrong fucking choice at every turn.

Im 37, married and have a son. Im currently not working, my wife is advancing her STEM career, so she will eventually make decent income. Basically her side of thr family is loaded and when she was born her rich ass grandparents immediately opend a trust in her name that she cant touch until the grandmother passes and she just turned like 97, and then her dad also has a trust with $250k in it that hers. So we kinda have a nest egg waiting on us. My family is not as rich but well off, except my dad who is the blacksheep of the family and when my grand parents pass they will give my dad 50% and my aunt 50% and then they are supposed to distribute the out to their kids, so I wont be seeing a dime from that, but Ive long since accepted that and dont care.tl;dr my wife has a fat inheritance coming her way, so I dont really fret too much about money.

Millenials are like wild animals who were captured, gen Z was born in captivity. I know when my car beeps at me incessantly, cars did not used to do that. I know when I buy a TV and have to remove bloatware for 6 hours, TVs didn't use to do that. I know when windows shows me ads in my start button, it didn't use to do that. I know while me and my wife are working off a 30 year mortgage, my parents did it on one income, in 10 years, for a home three times larger.Gen Z is lucky they were born after life became shit so they dont really know just how shit everything is now. Gen Z works their gig job delivering food for less than the cost of driving the car, buy they dont know in the 90s you could stock shelves at a grocery store for one summer and buy a brand new car.
