China built up the most insane oil reserves in recent years, 10X the US and EU combined. The US has a new agency whos sole purpose is identifying and counting chinese oil reserves. Russia is filling it all up. By holding the worlds largest strategic oil reserves china became a dominant power in the oil market despite producing none. They are currently using this shit and preventing global economic collapse for several reasons, the n1 reason is show they can. But also show naval blockades in the case of a taiwan assault would be futile. China is using their insane oil reserves and burning insane amounts of coal to temporarily reduce how much oil they buy, this keeps the world economy functioning sort of.
