I have stopped looking at China as a US competitor. Not that they don’t compete, and absolutely mog the US in certain tasks. But because their ascendancy is all but guaranteed at this point. For all the bullshit about rights and capitalism levied at China America is just as guilty. Americas only edge is if you want to be a billionaire and own a digital fiefdom. Or do you want to be subservient to a government weighed down by bureaucracy. If I’m Asian, I’m already moving to the Asian world and integrating my children’s children in to a new world paradigm as the American hegemony collapses in on its own stupidity. Europe is an interesting ascendant path, as it’s weighed down by America, which is why the next 20 years will see them grow increasingly independent of American economies and dwindling technological lead.

I am 100% with China as long as they continue to release freely available AI models for local use.
