Going back to the gold standard would throw the economy into a deflationary crisis. Gold fags and lolbertarians are economically illiterate. They are literally the White version of the low IQ approach Zimbabwe economics

We'd still be slaves, just to the morons who own the gold. And don't pretend many of them wouldn't be Jews.

You can still keep your ((precious metals)) if you want. No one is proposing taking away your gold or your silver. Spare us the straw man. Gold and silver are useful as a hedge against inflation. They're not useful as money in a modern economy. Nor is it advisable to go back to a gold standard that would all but instantaneously force the economy into a deflationary crisis. The first politicians who do this today would go down in history as huge failures in governance

Nixon had intended for leaving Bretton Woods to be just a temporary reset, and for the US to soon return to the gold standard.

The jews eliminated Nixon because they wanted to make (((fiat debt-money))) money permanent.

But do you think having gold backed money would have changed anything?
Indian citizens have the most gold in the world in personal ownership, do you want the global trade in rupees?

>The longer you put off dealing with the discrepancy, the worse it will become.
So, since there is too much non-gold wealth in the modern world to use gold to back currency... you propose destroying wealth until there is little enough left for gold to be used to back currency? Do you know what a commodity standard for currency means?

You are operating from the premise that not having a gold standard is somehow a disordered state of affairs. Your analogy is ridiculously parochial. In reality, not all wealth can realistically be calculated by the availability of gold. This is something that your ideological precepts appear incapable of dealing with in a realistic way

This is true. They think that they can make the stupid bets they've made turn out profitable if only they can meme a gold standard into existence. The notion that they are working off of unrealistic premises is alien to them. People who are obsessed with the end of the world are the same way. Sunk cost fallacy is real
>>
>>540848813
Does gold build factories, roads, plumbing, housing, energy infrastructure, etc. or is that built with labor and resources? What happens if you peg your economy to a finite commodity which you can't contract or expand the supply of if needed? Or should we resign ourselves to not doing anything when the resources and labor are available but shiny metals aren't? Or what about when a new supply of gold is found and it crashes your economy like what happened to spain when they discovered gold in the new world? What about when the people who own the supply of gold create artificial scarcity so that they can expropriate the property of borrowers who can't pay off their debt?
>>
>>540855379
>what about when a new supply of gold is found and it crashes your economy like what happened to spain when they discovered gold in the new world?
That is literally the dilemma about fiat currency except on a much smaller scale. The stupidest argument against a metal currency is "it will increase in quantity some times." There are absolutely zero checks on governments producing fiat currency as we have seen and their exchange rates with eachother are completely unreliable.
>>
>>540848813
You need a bimetallic (gold and silver) standard. Gold alone isn't stable.
>>
>>540854464
That's a really bad graph.

>>540855630
>The stupidest argument against a metal currency is "it will increase in quantity some times."
That's a contender, I suppose. How about instead of responding to stupid arguments, you respond to better arguments, like there not being enough gold to back modern currency?

The issue is that gold is not something you can control the supply of, so I'm giving examples of how that problem plays out. The main problem is deflation of course, inflation at this point probably wouldn't happen unless we started mining asteroids or mining in the sea. Yes, a fiscally irresponsible government can take advantage of it's power to issue currency, but it can also not. Because the fact is you can't have a powerful industrial economy without the ability to issue your own currency, it's why even with commodity backed currencies they started to print more notes than could actually be redeemed. Why limit yourself to a commodity when the limit is in the resources and labor exists to make shit happen? Do you understand how retarded it is when all the capacity to do something exists yet you're limiting yourself to shiny metals? If your currency isn't flexible enough to adapt and respond to the needs of an economy then it's objectively bad. The only real argument is not economics, because the libertarian economics is just plain wrong, but sovereignty. Hard money advocates don't want an entity to have the power to issue currency because they can abuse it, ok, fair enough. But what about the fact that's already the case with hard money? Is gold or silver something most people have? If it isn't then whoever owns most of those metals is de facto issuer of your currency if it's backed by gold and/or silver. They can deflate the currency to expropriate all your shit. You're a farmer and you borrow money, then there's deflation, what happens? You can't pay off your debt and they take your farm. You're a country paying debts in gold, you export domestic goods in exchange for gold and then what do you think happens? The demand for goods is the same but you just exported all that for gold to pay off debt.

>>540856735
Bitcoin is retarded, you're wasting all that energy, electronic parts, and computing power for something that is objectively worthless. If you mine metal you get a physical commodity that's actually worth something. If you print money in accordance with work done, even if the paper is practically worthless (still worth more than bitcoins though), it represents an obligation and is backed by an entity that can enforce it with violence. It's used to mobilize productive forces for fruitful ends. The only thing bitcoins accomplish is worthless speculation and wasting energy and resources. It represents absolutely nothing but the figments of people's imagination.
>>

>deflationary crisis.

>>
>>540857316
I get what you're saying and you are trying to argue the case which the governments made when they switched to fiat in the early 20th century. Another cogent argument for fiat (especially electronic) is that it allows the secure movement of mass amounts of currency faster, which enables much higher volumes of trade.

If we imagine a city had a banker, and the banker decided that the limited amount of currency was preventing people from reaching their full productive capacity, this may serve as a concise metaphor for your and their case.

But already we can sense the MORAL flaws there. If people are unwilling to do work, why would creating more money cause them to work more? Because they are being tricked.

What is more, you constantly frame yourself as the man who will extract this additional labor. Who gave you that right? Who are you to say that you need more work done than is already being done?

Your answer you have already made: you have cash. Since in your system you are the cash creator, and you can create as much cash as you want, and therefore any time you want more productivity from any given sector you just create the cash that makes them more productive.
>>
>>540857741
A sovereign government which issues it's own sovereign currency to pay for things that actually matter like infastructure, instead of bank assets, is what they fear the most.
