Tesla has part of its California assembly line outside under a large tent structure. The Gigafactory in Texas was supposed to be 10 million sqft but it's still not done yet. If you look at Google Maps, it's mostly dirt. The problem is that these gases were obviously part of the atmosphere in the past to begin with and yet they managed to settle out and freeze in spite of their greenhouse effect. The point is that his proposal doesn't inherently change the steady state temperature of the planet whatsoever, the change to the martian climate wouldn't be self stable.What's even more stupid is that his own "plan" involves introducing oceans as part of the terraforming process, somehow. The only way we could do that is by importing loads of water ice from elsewhere e.g. comets probably. If you're crashing that much mass unto the martian surface the effect of a couple nukes will be completely insignificant.
