Marx and Engels thought that there were different stages in the development of society and that socialism would emerge after capitalism, rather than directly after feudalism. According to Marx, capitalism had to develop after feudalism in order to create the material conditions for the further development of society. But the Maoists took a predominantly semi-feudal China and attempted to build socialism without going through a conventional capitalist phase. This is retarded even by commie standards.

Chinese communism was supposed to be communism for the agrarian society. However pure Communism by nature is meant for nations with some degree of heavy industry. USSR got as far as they did with it because Stalin dragged Russia kicking and screaming into the 20th century.
>>
Maoists were following Lenin in that and when communists took over Russia how to proceed regarding this was disputed with the Mensheviks favoring capitalism as a bridge. The issue is Marx figured communist revolutions would not even occur in agrarian countries whereas it turned out they became the bastion of them

Aside from China it didn't work elsewhere. Other nations had industry before they switched to communism and some even experimented with capitalism.

another misremembered fact is that Marx and Engels never said it was guaranteed socialism would emerge

if it didn't society would enter the "common ruin of the contending classes"

No they didn’t. Communist revolutions, contrary to Marx’s expectation, did not happen in industrialized countries, they happened in mostly peasant countries. This became an issue in Russia especially. Lenin eventually felt that some capitalism was required for industrialization after all the wars killed 70% of Russia’s meager industry. After he died Bukharinism became this faction of the Bolsheviks which promoted small businesses and Stalin started out in favor of this approach but he switched to total command economy because he was concerned that major war would come to Russia in his lifetime (which did happen) and he felt capitalism could not push industrialization fast enough. Mao followed suit with Stalin’s policies based on a similar concern of invasion. Today the communist party of China has switched to Bukharinism and they party manifesto says about as much, that they are managing capitalism until China can be fully communist which the manifesto estimates will take a century

It's probably not intentional but you worded this as though the future caused the past.

A big difference between Lenin and Hitler is Lenin said WWI was bullshit to benefit the bankers whereas Hitler said young men should kill and die by the millions in it and we’re Bolshevik scum if they refused to. Mussolini also left socialism because they opposed WWI. China today stands as a testimony to Leninist dislike of stupid wars as compared with other powers

That’s how Marxists view sociological development. They believe the development of society is teleological, so it might seem as though they think the future causes the past. Anyway, this might seem illogical, but it’s more nuanced than that, and it would take pages to explain it properly and make it make sense.

He means capitalism, a more advanced form of exploitation than feudalism, was required in order to extract wealth from labor and more efficiently invest it industry in order to get to a point that socialism was tenable. Without sufficient advanced then workers just work enough to live on so subsistence, if they are not exploited

Mao is hero and one of the greatest leaders of all time. Just look at CPC's starting position and where they are 80 years later, Mao was a genius. The modernization of China under subsequent leaders is thanks to the foundation that the people built under Mao. Deng couldn't have built the industry if Mao hadn't built the infrastructure first.

Retards put the cart in front of the horse. Mao united a war torn, pre industrial country of illiterate peasants. Under Mao's rule, life expectancy doubled, literacy went from 20% to 80%, with universal child literacy. The people of Mao's generation had to do the unglamorous work of building everything from scratch. They toiled with picks and shovels and sent their kids to school so they can build their own machines to liberate themselves from that toil.

Blaming Mao for not "just doing what Deng did" is like saying the immigrant toilet cleaner whose kids are doctors is a retard for not just being a rich doctor himself.

Mao's legacy will always be divisive because of the colossal fuck ups of the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution which followed it. I think it's combination of his own hubris, being paranoid about losing influence in the CPC and the De-Stalinization unfolding in the Soviet Union which caused him to make mistakes that cost the lives of millions and China two decades of development. 1949 Mao was cautious and was content with workers, peasants, petty bourgeoisie and even some (patriotic) elements of the haute bourgeoisie working together to gradually build socialism. 1953 Mao instead wanted to bypass capitalism altogether and proceed straight to socialism overtaking the Soviet Union, United States and United Kingdom in two decades.

Mao's legacy is divisive because of his success. The only reason westoid NPCs are aware of these talking points is because those doing the indoctrinating fear Mao's example, so nit picky factoids about a few bad policies in a tsunami of triumph is part of every kids curriculum.

I was just watching the old BBC WW2 series. Englishmen were talking about how during the battle of Britain, they had a campaign to get people to donate aluminum cookware to be made into airplanes. Everyone emptied their cupboards and street corners were blocked by massive heaps of pot metal donations.

It was totally rubbish though, completely unsuitable for aircraft aluminum.

They go on to say how brilliant it was though, what a clever propaganda play that brought people together, sharing a burden and letting them feel catharsis from being able to do something to make a difference.

When Anglos did it as their global empire slipped through their fingers, it's a wholesome story.

When Mao did it as he created the next world order, its on the top 10 list of the most retarded things he did while constantly failing upward.

Mao was a ming. the politics dont matter and are just something made up after the fact to justify a power grab. adopting any old politics is kinda gay. just start swizing and accumulating power, then later make up some code that justifies it. then you too will have some neckbeard talking shit about you in 100 years.

I think socialism is a dead in the water ideology. Now we have state planned economies (China) welfare states (dying to be fair) and shitholes (Venezuela)

I used to think the cultural revolution was bad, even the CPC says it was bad. I'm mature enough now to realize it was super necessary.

You know who the "survivors" of the Cultural Revolution are? They're the ass blasted fifth columnist race traitors who are seething because they were supposed to be feudal princesses, but instead of being parasitic rent seekers they had to suffer the indignity of *checks notes* going to university for free being a lawyer.

If anything, the cultural revolution didn't go far enough. Look at Diasparoids cheering on the bombing of their homeland in Iran, or blockading their kin in cuba. These fifth columinst are unredeemable.

Perhaps Mao's last sacrifice is being thrown under the bus by the CPC so the party can carry on with the benefit, but can burry the hurt feelings. I still think they're pussies for condemning Mao.

The failures of the Great Leap Forward should not be pinned solely on Mao himself. His vision may have been grand and aggressive, but a lot of responsibility also lays with middle management who FUBAR'd it to hell. His failure was either trusting the scientific and statistical planning process or turning a blind eye to the numerous layers of political ass-kissing and number-padding that would occur at each level of management by countless cadres. The starvation that happened during the GLF was a direct result of this mismanagement of the plan at all levels.

The soul of a nation cannot exist purely based on industrial output and political ideology. It has to be tempered by the creative arts without the restriction of political oversight and acknowledgement of intangible pieces of national history, such as religious or cultural customs. In a lot of ways, the mere act of creating these things or the study thereof tend to be lean toward the bourgeois. But snuffing them out not only creates more unnecessary foes for yourself, but it also cuts your connection to the rich heritage that is a nation's birthright. Not even the USSR banned Tchaikovsky.
