Toivoisin, että yhteiskunnassa mietittäisiin enemmän keinoja tukea ja kuntouttaa huonosti voivat ihmiset sen sijaan, että heiltä viedään viimeisetkin rahat. Pieniäkään tukia pois ottamalla ei ratkaista päihdeongelmia tai elämänhallinnan haasteita, vaan tilanne voi jopa vaikeutua.”Varhila pohti haastattelussaan myös sitä, miksi yhä harvempi nuori mies avioituu tai perustaa perheen. Heimolan mukaan moni nuori mies hyötyisi matalan kynnyksen palveluista sekä siitä, että virastoissa ja terveydenhuollossa asiointiin saisi tarvittaessa työntekijän tukea. Tarvetta olisi paitsi akuuttien terveysasioiden hoitamiseen myös kuntoutumisen ja tulevaisuuden mahdollisuuksien pohtimiseen.”Kun nuoret miehet saavat riittävästi tukea ja pääsevät elämässään eteenpäin, myös valmiudet pitkäaikaisiin parisuhteisiin ja perheen perustamiseen yleensä vahvistuvat.”
