I visited as a teen. It was a 5 week homestay program with a few days in Mexico City at the beginning, then 3.5 weeks with a family, then a week of travel to Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta at the end. The food was great and the people were great except my host family who was the only family in the group who did not have teenage-kids (we were all 15) and they had really little kids like 5-7-9 and basically expected me to babysit them and were mad when I didn't and eventually kicked me out of their house with like less than a week left to go and I stayed with the only other boy in the program. The family I had wanted a boy (most participants are girls) and they got a gay guy and they probably weren't happy with that either.
