>>540887351It opens up doctors to a lot more litigation from grieving relatives who will inevitably try to argue only a seriously depressed patient would ever consider suicide over continued treatment and therefore the deceased lacked the requisite autonomy to make that decision for themselves (as a result of mental illness). Whether or not that's ever actually the case is irrelevant, it just means a lot more headaches for the in-house counsel at hospitals.
