Guys, I'm beginning to waiver. Our family farm has had shit crops four years in a row and with a total of 7 failed crops in 10 years, biggest reason being not enough snowfall during winter, and summer heatwaves killing crops. The growth is slow and extends too far. This summer hasn't been hot, but it's been exceptionally rainy and it in turn destroyed some our crops. Our forest is also ravaged by a fungus called Lecanosticta acicola, which is new in Finland, apparently used to only appear in middle Europe and south of that. Our family house has stood for +100 years now without problem, but now the foundation has been damaged by flooding, for the first time ever. For the first time ever, we had to apply for farming subsidies and are planning to apply for an EU grant to ensure we can survive.I keep hearing similar stories all over the country from other farmers and farmer families, and apparently fishermen are having tough times too.I'm actually beginning to think that the climate change is real. Everything is fucked.
