>>540919130Same here. I made it to Calc 2, but after so many years of not having to use it, I had forgotten all of it. I didn't know shit about trigonometry or fractions anymore either. I had to take a quick refresher course on both subjects. It was easy to pick up again, but yeah, it's amazing how the way things are taught in school can be so ineffective. You aren't taught to learn; you are taught to memorize. It's also why I scoff at people that brag about having this degree or that. It's like, good job, you were able to memorize your way through college.

They can't do mental math anyway so the convenience of them goes over their heads but even the concept of what they are eludes them. Even if you asked like what is 1/4 + 3/4 you will get nothing but the glazed stare unless you let them plug it into their phone.
