It is forced on us, ruining things we enjoyed, and constantly trying to deceive us.Some people need to think logically and get a grasp of what AI fundamentally is. It's fundamentally a statistical model that absorbed text written by people, and creates text that is similar to it.I don't mean this as the "it just predicts the next token" that midwits usually repeat and it doesn't mean anything. I'm saying it because, for this reason, it will have problems no matter how much they improve it. They finetune models in order to modify the probability of different responses beyond just what it took from the training text, such as make it so it responds to inputs instead of writing a likely continuation for them, never questions trannies or niggers, writes in a certain tone, etc. And they also can make it so it's less likely to say facts that are not in training data or derived from it or the input, which is how they get it to "hallucinate" less.The problem is, at the end of the day, even if they improved it to be 100 times better than it currently is, what you have is a system that you ask a question to it and, with no understanding of why you're asking the question, what you need, or even what the truth is or what it means for a statement to be true, it's going to try to give you text that is supposed to be similar to what a typical answer to that question should be like. This is bound to cause problems and will never not be slop.
