They're a pretty invisible generation. Boomers held onto (and are even still holding one) to upper management positions too long. Gen X is more than happy to retire on schedule so they didn't get into many positions of power. Since boomers with be too geriatric by the time millenials hit management age they will get the bulk of power and keep it for awhile. Despite not having long years of service in top positions your average gen Xer probably won't mind because they purchased homes while they were still affordable. Most of gen X has paid off mortgages, so the current economic downsides are more annoying than debilitating.
