If this were the Iraq war, the US would have taken Tehran 5 months ago. What went so terribly, terribly wrong with the USA?
Had the US invaded Ukraine like Russia did, progress would have been stalled and end up as a blunder. Hohols have 0 self preservation and the US is notorious for not commiting to long high attrition wars for no reason. The first 2 weeks would have resulted in a full scale withdrawal and retreat. How Russia is keeping up against NATO is a military feat that will be studied for decades, especially since the age of FPV drones. The US is would be in a worse off situation than Russia.
Bush was Commander in Chief and had a supremely competent and utterly ruthless VP and SecDef and the Marine Corps was at full strength, all male combatants, so they just sent those animals into Fallujah and in 3 days the city fell.

the Iraq war was planned as a full scale invasion from the start. Iran wasn't supposed to be a prolonged conflict because Trump bought the garbage CIA report that a popular uprising against the regime was imminent and all they had to do was take out the Irani leadership to kick off a revolution. It's blatantly obvious there was never a plan beyond limited air strikes to cripple Iran's military capabilities, and the US expected Iran to run out of steam in a few weeks tops.There was no uprising, and while Iran is rendered pretty impotent right now by the attacks the US did against it, they're not showing any sign of imminent collapse and have shifted to a long-term siege mindset that the US is being very slow to adopt because Trump and his cronies still believe they can end it with one really good negotiation session.
