>>540975485Internet stopped working for some reason, huh thats strange. Anyway, Joy Divison was an interesting band, Ian Curtis the lead singer of that band was an amazing lyricist, listen to "Love Will Tear Us Apart" as an example. The band was originally called Warsaw but they had to change it to Joy Division because there was already another band called Warsaw. The name was inspired by a nazi prostitute division if I recall correctly. From the beginning they had a punk sound, but later went with post-punk sound. they used fascist imagery here and there but they werent genuine nazis. Ian Curtis vocals were influenced by Jim Morrison, he was a big fan of The Doors. Now, what made Joy Division unique aside from lyrics was their dark atmosphere. They were the most influential post punk band. Ian Curtis suffered from depression and epilepsy and coulsnt handle living so in 1980 he had to take his own life, he was 23 years old when he commited suicide. After the death of that guy, the past members of Joy Division formed a new band, called New Order.
