What is the point of this? What Europe needs is more reconciliation and less division. Europe, including Russia, which is culturally and ethnically a part of it, is a deeply traumatized continent that still cannot shake off the results of the two world wars and the collapse of the USSR (in Russia's case) and find its place in the new global order. Practically all former great powers of Europe, be it Britain, Germany, Russia or France (and even Turkey) refuse to acknowledge that the world has evolved past the realities of the XIX century and accept they are neither calling the shots anymore or have the capabilities to preserve the same sphere of influence that they used to have. Western Europe still has a lot of resource and potential for revisiting their international standing, however they lack the political will, energy or even a defined idea of what exactly they want to go back to. They want to just return to the 00's, which is a convenient and peaceful time for them, but ultimately a dead end, which leads nowhere. Eastern Europe (mainly Russia) has a somewhat more defined idea of what it wants to be, but lacks the resource to actually see this through. Much of it because what Russia wants is impossible in the XXI century. But ultimately, neither would be able to reclaim an independent agenda and regain relevancy in the modern world if they refuse to cooperate and just continue living like it is still the age of great powers of the XIX century with China and the US still remaining largely irrelevant. If we continue sowing division amongst ourselves and exaggerating differences instead of focusing on similarities, the European kindred will remain a doomed subservient people, slipping further and further into irrelevancy and having no control over its own fate. The next couple of decades will likely show if the new generation of leaders will be able to do anything differently or if the European continent has reached its end.
