Japan is just bargain bin China and has always been. They hate China because Chinese are everything that the Japanese wanted to be - an independent state, free from Western influence that can challenge those in the West and control much of the Asian region. Japan's sole goal since the restoration of Meiji was becoming exactly that, which is why they waged a genocidal war across Asia to try and dominate it. But they failed, got a bloody nose in China and then got conquered by the very people they once tried to emulate. Now Japan is nothing, a shallow husk of its former self with no culture of their own, no ambitions, no ideology aside from blind admiration of those that dominate them and no future. The only other thing they still have going on is fanatical envy for the Chinese that managed to achieve what they have always wanted for themselves. China is a shining example of what Japan could have been. Japanese will never forgive Chinese people for succeeding where they failed.
Japanese wages (PPP) is 4 times higher than Chinese. Nobody wants to mo to China, not even communism fanboys, meanwhile Japan is a dream for many. Mao cultural revolution completely destroyed ancient Chinese culture and this is why Chinks seethe so much at Japan which preserved it's own.
