There was some sort of electrical box by my apartment back in 2008 or so. I remember the bomb squad came out because it was ticking.It was obviously just an electrical box with some component in it that ticked. It had been there for years.I remember watching from my apartment window as something like 15 dudes acted like it was some serious threat. They dressed a guy up in street clothes to go walk by it. Surely he was like "that's just some sort of electrical relay box".But no, they then rigged up the fucking robot to go check things out. I figure by this point in time, they realized they'd been woken up in the middle of the night for nothing, and they were all just collecting overtime to make it worth the trouble.They sent the robot down, and I could see into their van as they steered it to the box. It was neat to watch them work.But they had the robot fucking rip open the box for no goddamn reason. It just inserted something into a seam and pried it open.Then they left, and the box was just pried open, and nobody ever fixed the box.Fuckin' cops.
