People often treat Operation Barbarossa as inevitable, but strategically it was an unforced error. By mid-1941 Germany was in a far stronger position than most realize, and much of that strength came from not fighting the USSR.Under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and the economic agreements that followed, the Soviet Union was supplying Germany with grain, oil, manganese, and other critical materials. The German war machine was running on Soviet resources without having to occupy a single square mile of Soviet territory. Invading to seize those resources made little sense when trade was already delivering them.Avoiding the Eastern Front would have allowed Germany to concentrate its air power, armor, and logistics on Britain and the Mediterranean. In 1941 Britain was still isolated, and the United States had not yet fully mobilized. A Germany that stayed at peace with Moscow could have focused on North Africa, Gibraltar, Malta, and the Atlantic, potentially forcing Britain into a negotiated settlement or at least preventing the later full-scale Allied bombing and invasion of Western Europe. The invasion also turned a one-front war into a two-front war against a larger industrial power with enormous strategic depth. From June 1941 onward, the Wehrmacht was gradually ground down in the east, losing the core of its army at Stalingrad, Kursk, and in the retreat back to Berlin. That attrition was not necessary in 1941; it was chosen.Stalin was not an immediate threat to Germany in 1941. He was purging his officer corps, rebuilding his military, and was clearly shocked when the invasion came. A cynical, pragmatic policy of “getting along” with Stalin — continuing trade, avoiding provocations, keeping the pact alive — would have bought Germany years of security in the east.Hitler didn’t need to invade Russia. He needed to not invade Russia. Breaking the pact with Stalin was the single most self-destructive decision of the war.

why did mussolini invade a fellow fascist state, fail, and then pull significant german resources in to greece thereby fatally delaying the invasion of soviet russia.https://youtu.be/XluslIGClRA
>>541007550read up on your history nigga, greece almost would've been a fscist state but the eternal anglo jewed it covertly, it could've been an ally or at least neutral but angolem mi6 glowniggers love jews. oh and also germany had no reason to go help italy except to show off, italy came back from being pushed into in WW1 too. >>541007311I think you're right but what an exceptionally mid woman
>Em dash Herbs and kill yourself
>>541007311Hitler's biggest mistake was not inviting Stalin over for a beer and uniting around their shared hatred of Trotskyites. His autistic Germanic brain could not imagine such a thing.
>>541008383can you answer my question without wandering off on non-sequiturs.https://youtu.be/QxTdznFS498

>>541009153The jews taught him that only jews died in the WWII
>>541007311>Operation Barbarossa as inevitableThe war was inevitable as Stalin was preparing to attack Hitler in August-September 1941. Hitler just beat him to it.
>>541007311Sure, but you're assuming that Hitler had a superrational birds eye view of the situation. For him, the entire point of the early campaigns was to gear up so they could invade Russia. Had France and England not guaranteed Poland, WW2 would have started with the German invasion of Russia.Your speculation is pointless, as the conflict with Russia would be inevitable with Hitler in charge,
>>541007311If USSR remained neutral there’s very little allies could have done, even if they succeeded in North Africa. US would have entered the war sooner or later but it wouldn’t matter, without eastern front D day is a pipe dream and they would have to peace out. Even nukes, assuming they would be ready before that happens wouldn’t matter. If USSR entered the war on the side of Germany it’s straight up over.
>>541007311>From June 1941 onward, the Wehrmacht was gradually ground down in the east,The Wehrmacht was near moscow by the end of November 1941. The soviets suffered enormous losses in both territory, manpower and industrial capacity. The first major mistake Hitler made was to split his Army Group South to go to Stalingrad, instead of concentrating on capturing the Caucasus and Caspian oil fields.
>>541009719>If USSR entered the war on the side of Germanykek, that would've never happened because Stalin's plan was to prop up Hitler with resources until the Allies and Germany exhosted each other enough for the Soviets to attack Hitler. There's considerable evidence that Stalin was actually planning to stab Hitler in the back as early as August-September 1941. But we'll not know for sure until your government finally declassified the WWII archives. Hitler just beat Stalin to the punch, and it if wasn't for the allied aid the USSR would've sued for peace by 1943. There's some evidence that Stalin covertly contemplated or probed for a separate peace during the catastrophic early months of the German invasion in 1941.
>>541007311>>541009598Yup
>>541010679No, it’s cope by neonazis to justify that fuck upStalin actually purged officials that wanted to confront germany, USSR was in the middle of army reform and industrialisation. Meanwhile getman cabinet was hawkish towards USSR gor a while, Himmler especially. Noteable exception was Goebells but he changed his mind after hitler told him toAnd no, Germany could not win even without Allied aid to USSRMost of lend lease arrived after Stalingrad. It would have taken longer but it still ends up with crimson banner over Berlin
