Americans have more than enough firepower, but the majority of them have not only never seen danger or action, but they've been overly comforted by movies and tv that primarily have the message of 'be nice and don't be violent'. Them having guns means jack shit if they've never seen experience that would force them to use their guns. This is why revolution is far more likely in Europe than it is in America, because Europeans have lived in their homelands longer and also seen countless conflicts in their homes that have shaped them more than anything Americans witnessed.
