>>541026018Karma just means ripening of the fruit or cause and effect. In buddhism good karma means that you have a higher chance of enlightenment not that you are going to be born rich. Being Rich isn't inherently having good karma, because if life is too good you are less likely to seek enlightenment. You then do negative things and then are reborn into the animal realm, ashura realm, or hell. Even The Deva Realm where you can reincarnate into a powerful being who can live up to million, billions, or even trillions of years depending on which deva realm or layer you are in. It is not as good as being born as a human during the teaching of a Buddha in the buddha's eyes. Life is so pleasurable there and alot of them can summin anything they want and are beautiful. But after many eons they eventually do just die and are treated with contempt by other devas because they think decay is gross and can't handle the reality of dying. If you don't create merit or good karma in the deva realm you will be reborn as an animal, in hell, or an ashura(demigods/demons that are always fighting, super jealous, enemies of the devas), or maybe a human but with bad circumstances maybe a disabiltiy or a place with no dharma.The Buddha says that being in the human realm is the best because the suffering isn't so bad you can't practice but life isn't the most pleasurable where you don't feel the need too.Believe it or don't believe it but I just wanted to clear up misconceptions. This is just mahayana Buddhism. I don't now in depth how karma works in Jainism and Hinduism, even all the hindu sects have different persepctives.
