I feel deflated, granted the infographic only displays an incomplete and low resolution sketch of female mate preference. From this perspective it seems that what we call civilisation is a machine that artificially governs and modulates mate selection and pairing in order that the maximum amount of men possible exert energy and contribute towards some culturally defined destination. It feels terribly contrived. We are witnessing the fallout of this collapse currently, and have been for some time already. However "fall" here does not quite fit, we are returning to a natural equilibrium. This delicate structure allowed intelligence to thrive. Science, philosophy and art all require this framework. Otherwise the men responsible for such endeavors are either preoccupied with the basic tasks of survival, die early as they are not fit in the context of nature or else they do not reproduce (this is already common even within the confines of a civilisation). What truly is the point in competing in such an arena? An arena that favours violence, deception and unconscious action? If I am not a human that is comfortably absorbed in and tugged along by the physical processes and delights of the body? If I reproduce it is likely my children will be equally as dysfunctional as I, born into an world that is increasingly hostile to anyone on the right side of the IQ bell curve. This has certainly been said before, and by people far more articulate than I, however it was on my mind, and I felt like expressing it.
