>BREAKING: US interest expense on the national debt hit a record $1.4 trillion over the last 12 months.

>Since 2020, the cost of servicing US public debt has nearly TRIPLED.

>If rates remain stable, interest payments are set to rise to $1.7 trillion by November 2028.

>As a result, interest will surpass Social Security spending as the government's largest outlay for the first time.

>America's debt bill is spiraling out of control.

I’ve always said that if you are a fiscal conservative, you’d be better off voting blue. Nothing motivates fiscal conservatives more than being in the minority. Whenever they hold the purse strings they’re just as bad, if not worse, than the lefties at spending.

By mid 2030s it'll be ~33% of all tax revenue going to pay interest on debt, which of course accelerates the national debt growth, which in turn drives inflation, ultimately culminating in total collapse at which point in SHTF we can purge all of them.

Good times coming bros.

The only things that will see any worth in you, are the maggots that will feast on your rotten corpse when you hopefully KYS, soon. And even then, you will cause them nausea and a sense of regret for ever having consumed you. You all know about modern monetary theory right?
Your taxes pay for literally nothing. Every tax dollar collected might as well be incinerated to keep in. For every expense, dollars are just conjured out of thin air. As long as there are more expenses than taxes, more money is put into the economy, which drives inflation.
For the last fifty years, inflation has fueled economic growth since holding cash is dumb when compared to investing it.
I'm not sure if this actually invalidates any arguments about the debt but this is a global-warming tier crisis where clearly nobody in power actually gives a fuck about the debt, which is a huge red flag to me.
>we have to cut taxes which fuels economic growth!!
It's always more complicated but this is an old Republican talking point

For once I think grug brain is right. The debt is basically not fucking real. Is the World Bank going to show up with the World Army and repossess the USA's Trump Arch? No. The economy might shit itself but the economic crash is the eternal threat in hyper-capitalism anyway. Oops there goes your job and retirement.
The shit thing about short election cycles and big assemblies is that the best strategy for a representative in the face of a long-term problem is to just pass it on to the next guy. Nobody wants to be Hoover.

Credit-based fiat, interest-free US Notes issued by the US Treasury for the citizens to use for daily commerce are VERY DIFFERENT from debt-based, borrowed, private, interest-bearing Federal Reserve Notes issued by the bloodsucking BANKRUPT NYFed, which are then also used to primarily reinvest back into the NYFed’s securities casino.

‘Investing’ is just people further bankrupting the US by putting the NYFed’s private Federal Reserve Notes back into their debt-based system via the US Treasury bond/MBS market.

More money has to be injected in the economy and be circulating to act as a driver for inflation. All the money in circulation in theory has to represent all the goods being exchanged. Part of the reason all the money printing hasn't wrecked us with inflation THAT MUCH is that so much of the money is tied up with foreign entities holding USD as a reserve currency to buy things like oil.
I was under the assumption that paying off the debt would just decrease the amount of money in circulation but I might be wrong.

Yeah and it makes me suspect that paying down the debt would just effectively incinerating money (we already paid them that's why there's debt). And incinerating money is just deflation. Economists hate deflation because they think it makes the economy seize up because people start saving money, or they might go back to bartering shit.

If I'm correct, paying down the debt meaningfully would just be like lighting trillions of dollars on fire. Taxing money out of existence, and not giving out more money with more government contracts or benefits, that all is just money vanishing. The money vanishing would cause deflation - which has its upsides to be sure. That's how olden days capitalism worked, your money got more valuable since generally the wealth of your nation outpaced the amount of currency your nation used.
But that's not the current school of economic thought. So as far as I know this another reason nobody wants to pay down the debt, it's against economic thought. I feel like this framework is only half correct, like it can't be this simple.

That angle gets missed a lot in economics. Economics is full of people trying to rationalize and quantify a somewhat irrational field of human life, so there's a persistent tendency to try to make economics all about numbers and game theory and whatever, make it look more scientific and rational.

But all economics have a human aspect. The Great Recession had a body count. De-industrializing the Rust Belt had a body count, it destroyed families, communities, ways of life. COVID economics flattened a bunch of small business and destroyed lives, sent people to deaths of despair or suicide, or back to live with their parents, to never escape again, because there's some milestones you can't do later.

These policies are part of reality and can change substantially the quality of people's one and only life on this planet. A life that could've been great can be essentially lost because someone allowed too many irresponsible loans or speculative financial instruments.

A reminder, Federal Reserve Notes are what are being issued to worthless oblivion and
>the US dollar is a fucking UNIT

We need to AGAIN issue debt-free, Treasury-issued US Notes like we did before (and during) the bloodsucking, obsolete Federal Reserve. We need to AGAIN issue debt-free US Notes that are pegged to a basket of commonly-used weighted commodities, distributed by a series of state banks.

We can:
1 nationalize Fed banks
OR
2 dissolve Fed and have a series of state banks
OR
3 issue US Notes simultaneously AGAIN and eventually recycle worthless Federal Reserve Notes out of circulation
OR
4 YOU CAN RIGHT NOW: use cash/barter/stack/use credit unions/use cold wallets, these five things IMMEDIATELY transfer power directly to the people

USE CASH, NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY YOU ARE IN, cash IMMEDIATELY puts the power in the hands of the people.

US Treasury-issued paper fiat (aka cash, aka US Notes):
>is permissionless
>is private
>is anonymous
>has no transaction fees
>works in power outages
>doesn’t need the internet
>don't need to be a coder to use it
>doesn't depend on another party having a device
>everyone knows exactly how much they have
>has no transaction limits or thresholds for reporting
>money laundering is harder with physical cash, due to transport
>is inclusive, it does not see race
>is harder to use in ransoms
>can’t be hacked
>don’t need to remember a password to use it
>IS the ultimate in payment platforms
>using cash helps people to save money and budget
>puts the power directly in the hands of the people
>keeps the currency near the REAL goods and services
>less paperwork
>is face to face, not face to screen
>makes government theft harder
>using cash forces the debt-based Federal Reserve to serve the citizens

Boycott businesses that do not take cash.
NEVER USE YOUR PHONE TO PAY.
Barter is the real torpedo to these fucking clowns.

>A life that could've been great can be essentially lost because someone allowed too many irresponsible loans or speculative financial instruments.
lol i noticed you missed IORB (aka QE)

there are FOUR ways currency is created in the US:
1 Congressionally-approved Public Issues treasuries for deficit spending via the issuance of marketable US treasuries sold by the NYFed’s primary dealers aka Debt Held by the Public (now ~$38 T)
2 Intragovernmental Debt GAS securities (aka ‘Unfunded Liabilities’) that are created/issued for currency to run public agencies (over ~$134 T now) and ARE PURCHASED WITH YOUR PAYROLL TAXES
3 The commercial tier 2 depository banking sector, it makes small loans in which only the interest remains in the banking system after the loan is paid back (the principal and repayments are destroyed when the loan is repaid) —this can remain when the Fed is dissolved
4 QE, this is fucking counterfeiting by the now-insolvent NYFed's primary dealers since 2008 via IOER (now called IORB) and we pay all sorts of interest on this, increasing every day with raising rates

The unproductive, parasitic class spear-headed by the NYFed are debauching our national currency by USING MONEY TO REPLACE ACTUAL SUCCESS.

So tl;dr nobody cares about the debt for a reason
>oh we have to make interest payments!!!
Like a normal loan? Sure, here's some more money out of the infinite bank account. You issue the currency, what does an interest payment matter?
If you have a nation, you need money. Instead of a gold mine and melting gold into coin molds, they figured out a sneaky way to dole out money on a provisional basis. I suspect that this comment will age terribly, but if inflation could stay at the 2% goal (realistically it should be under that for a decades to make up for the years of 6% inflation bullshit), then if the USA just issued out $1 trillion in debt, then it's all fine, as long as the economy is humming nicely. But the economy sucks right now. Still, blaming the debt is just blaming a symptom of a problem at best.
So why campaign on the debt? Does the nation need to start shrinking economically instead of growing? Politicians need to focus on people's quality of life which means distributing benefits, reigning in inflation, and making sure businesses are hiring.

And if you act up, they'll cut off your ability to buy food.

This is a dishonest take
2021-2022, pandemic emergency funding, which was propped up by mass hysterical capture was no longer justifiable. Marking it's non-renewal as intentional deficit reduction is intellectually dishonest
2010-2014, emergency spending was halted for yet another crisis that was propped up by mass hysteria
1998-2001, high capital gains tax, but that immediately imploded once the war on terror occurred. This one might actually be attributable to Clinton, vs bush
late 1940s, it was after WW2, we stopped increasing the deficit for the war effort.

The actual causes do not appear to be partisan, but Democrats generally have better messaging on economic downturn, but I have never seen a post-2000 democrat run on anything that would help the deficit.

The "Fiscal Conservative" is a meme at this point, the clear focus is on consolidating power and scratching the back of large-scale donors.

>If the USA economy goes down the world economy goes with it
lol nah, that's boomer cope, only america is vested in maintaining the status quo while plenty of others are actively undermining it, especially, china, there has been no time in history when a reserve currency declined and the world economy just collapsed, everyone just switched to different currencies and life went on, people will switch to yuan, or gold, and life will go on
> their game apparently is to get out (die rich)
I wouldn't be surprised if donnie's boomer class already just made a deal with china to hand the reserve currency over peacefully and in return being granted safety until they comfortably die, then the zoomies and millenials can figure out their civil wars among themselves, if you think about it, all of trump's actions look absolutely retarded and unhinged, but if you look from the angle that he already signed the deal of handing reserve currency status to china then everything makes 100% sense, everything he has done would be a step by step plan of how to hand over reserve currency status written by stephen miran personally

You're a worthless faggot. I dont care about your thread topic. This is personal. It's about you, you vile piece of shit.
And I mean that with the utmost vitriol and sincerity. You are absolutely worthless. To literally everyone and everything. The only things that will see any worth in you, are the maggots that will feast on your rotten corpse when you hopefully KYS, soon. And even then, you will cause them nausea and a sense of regret for ever having consumed you. Even the plants that will be fertilized by the maggot feces and vomit will be sickly and cause illness to anything that consumes them.
Your most beneficial action would be to throw yourself into a steel furnace and that metal used to create bullets and casings so that your entire blood line may be shot.
Seriously, you're repulsive.

that's just semantics at that point, the american economy collapsing will send some shocks through other economies too, especially ones that are closely related to america, but the world economy won't collapse, america will collapse, and there'll be some fallout then the next power will take it's place, probably china, also covid is not particularly relevant because it's not like it was caused by the american economy imploding

<<——This new dual-counter model allows for certain stocks on the HKEX to be priced in both the Chinese CBDC (the e-CNY) and the HKD. This new HKD:e-CNY dual-counter model easily allows for global financial firms to more consistently and easily convert USD to the e-CNY via the HKD/USD peg and to decrease the difference between price bids in HKD and the e-CNY on the HKEX
this is also intended to increase internationalization of the e-CNY and the securitization and tokenization of assets, especially securities
So, the politicians appear as though they are fighting while the international banks work together behind the scenes consolidating power.

Central banks are now acquiring gold to back their own currencies, NOT to convert from gold to digital, but to give them a seat at the NYFed/BIS/IMF TOKENIZED ASSET table
the global pie is getting bigger for these classists, as they sell each of their own nation's future productivity via bond debt, making the domestic pie much smaller for each citizen.

I think "collapse" won't happen since "collapse" means a sudden reduction in the tiers of a society. Like when Rome fell nobody needed lawyers for a while, it was just farmers and feudal lords. A modern collapse would be like the middle class wiped out of existence, and only wage slaves worked under and billionaires. Sure it's slowly crawling that way for now but anything could happen.
If North America has a depression then so does South America, Europe, China, everywhere. Then who's on top of the world stage? No idea, but incumbents have an advantage.

We have a State Capitalist Federal Reserve Uniparty comprised of the Fed’s shareholders, the big banks, and also both left and right establishment politicians, who endlessly work for the top 10% of US wealth holders that own 88% of all stocks, 85% of all private businesses and 50% of all pensions. The entire system is geared to support this club (and yes, they are also mainly boomers) to the tune of acquisition of 3% of ALL US ASSETS per decade. The privatization of profits and the socialization of losses.

The Fed has coerced the US and the entire globe into a central bank-run state capitalist system. What you are witnessing is the corporate takeover of the USA by our own financial sector and its majority-owned stock in mega corporations. This is evidenced in not only recent corporate media surveillance and censorship, but also in the ongoing wealth transfer scheme of orchestrated booms and busts by the NYFed and its primary dealers (laundering their worthless Federal Reserve Notes into real assets held by their private incorporation). The NYFed itself now holds 1/3 of all US mortgages. This was illegal before 2008.

There is not a country on Earth that practices free market capitalism. The debt-based Federal Reserve is a con, plain and simple. God only knows what true capitalism, real price discovery and sovereign nations trading with each other in a free market would be like. Imagine sovereign nations issuing their own currencies. God only knows where we would be today, had the Federal Reserve and the IRS (both created in 1913, btw) never been created. No orchestrated booms and busts, no crony State Capitalism, no corporate tax subsidies, no failing IPOs, no QE, no counterfeiting Central Banks, no metal market rigging, no derivatives, no endless war financing. Only states were supposed to impose an income tax. We are so far from free market capitalism, it is staggering. This is the Federal Reserve Uniparty.

If you had a magical money machine that could just print unlimited fake monopoly money because of some kind of financejew sorcery, and everyone else in the world accepted the fake monopoly money you printed, and it was everyone's favorite form of money and it made you the richest most powerful person in human history, and no matter how much you printed it just kept working, would you?
>Try to be "financially responsible" and somehow try to pay back all of this magic money you conjured out of nothing, even though you went way past the point where that is even remotely possible decades ago?
or

the most optimistic endgame is a british empire style collapse, no more overseas military bases, no more petrodollar, no more military adventures and stealing people's cargo ships, just being reduced to a backwater country with a weak economy that's chugging along, and people live in relative comfort but the glory days are long gone, the pessimistic endgame is a roman empire style collapse where the central government can't maintain itself anymore and the country splinters into dozens of warlords carving out their little fiefdoms where they rule like kings, I think america has a higher chance of the pessimistic than the optimistic scenario
and again it's a matter of semantics, if brazil collapsed that would send shockwaves in the markets, if south korea collapsed it would send shockwaves in the markets (it is), but that doesn't mean everyone else will also collapse, this is the same situation, america collapsing will send shockwaves in global markets too, but it's not like others would also just collapse, when the british collapsed that also sent shockwaves through the global markets, but then america just took it's place and things went on, america will collapse, there'll be some shockwaves, and china will just take it's place, not the same exact sense, china won't have miltiary bases in 150 countries and police who's selling what to who, but in the sense that it'll be the go to place to handle financial transactions, you want to trade you go to hong kong with a bag of hold, or you go to shanghai and exchange your bags of cobalt to yuan and then buy german beer with it or whatever you want, china will probably become the next central market of the global economy but they're probably uninterested in policing what kenya sells to myanmar

The best option is usually some lame compromise which is why nothing seems to ever get done.
I have to hand it to the financiers, the USA is still rich. Inflation as far as schemes go if a pretty decent one for a while, it fuels investment like crazy if you ignore the fact that it's because nobody expects the money to last as well. Money is just a dream, everyone has to believe in it for it to work.
What's fucked about inflation is that everyone in power is usually 60+ years old, and still mentally live in 1980. So they decide what wages should look like and they think that pathetic hourly rate is super generous.
