China will continue to do nothing. It will not annex Taiwan. But it will continue doing better than the US because we are self-sabotoging ourselves around every turn.
Best case is they do nothing and Japan, South Korea, etc in their neighborhood soften ties with them because the US is unreliable.

They won't do that because china is a dystopian shithole.
Their gdp per capita is about 1/4 that of the US.
Most of their population lives in absolute squalor and misery, primarily in the interior, where they live as basically slaves, pimped out by the CCP to foreign companies for cheap manufacturing labor.
The people on the coast are doing fairly well, but thats it.
The only reason the chinese people tolerate this hell is because the CCP promised them that things would always get better and if they just accepted it then one day they would all be richer than Americans.
But that cant happen because china is stuck in the middle income trap.
Chinese labor is not as cheap as it once was and now a lot of manufacturing is starting to leave.
Their economic growth has been stagnant since covid and they are falling back below the US in absolute numbers again.
The only thing keeping their economy going is their hyperinflated real estate sector.
And their demographic situation makes things even worse.
China has one of the worst demographic distributions in the world and are on the verge of a massive crisis as the majority of their workers are going to retire, or more likely, just start fucking dying.
This will make labor even more expensive, driving offshoring, and leading to a recession.
America can survive recessions because the people here are free to bitch about it and there is no expectation for the government to provide you a job.
In china it is completely different.
The chinese accept shitty conditions because they believe it is in service of a greater goodwill happens when that all fails and you shitty living conditions and economic crisis at the same time?
Im not saying china is going to collapse, but they are in for rough times.
