Nightlife was at its peak in the 90s-2000s; plateaued by early 2010s, then collapsed and dived down into the ether. Kinda fuckin sad seeing how little of anything goes on now compared to what once was, and the worst part is that everyone my age remembers but barely describes how good it was to the jungen

>>541081815 on two occasions i was able to walk into a store and get a job on the spot by talking to the manager. the first time someone else vouched for me but still that would be impossible now. on every night except Friday and Saturday, if you waited until about 9:40 pm you could walk around by yourself and take in the fresh air with no cars and no people anywhere. now there's persistent traffic until around 11:40. every 6 months or so a movie would come out that i desperately wanted to see, and i know it's not nostalgia because i still watch many of them. girls were more sociable and had a better sense of humor and weren't thinking about sex all the time. Gen Xers were arrogant cunts who talked down to me regularly and generally had a negative view on everything. the sole exceptions were the drug dealers, nobody has better drug dealers than Gen X.

Mexicans were wetbacks and you never really saw them because they all just worked in the fields. Playstation was sick huge jump from N64. Good music was still allowed to be made but that ended pretty quickly and everyone started listening to nigger noise. The Internet was cool. Search engines didn't work so good so finding a cool site was like being an explorer discovering a new land. Miniclip was the shit for le edgy humor presented in flash. Everyone was stealing all of their music on LimeWire but your computer got so many viruses you basically had to get a new one every year or two. You could find a job. You could afford gas and groceries. 9/11 was pretty gay. Politics was pretty much the same just simple red team blue team but they're really the same team. You didn't really have internet porn just pictures, PPV and softcore GGW DVDs unless you were really seedy. Drugs were still safe because fentanyl wasn't a thing. People weren't as fat but they were starting to be. People spent a lot more time outside and with friends and family. Quality of life was pretty damn good overall. Some of that was just blissful ignorance though.
